It's refreshing to see these young ladies decked to the nines for another UConn celebration. Glad to see Q with the band.

We all know Ashlynn is fit, but she was brandishing some serious guns last night.

Happy for Kaitlyn & Aubrey. Now the hard part begins.

Had to record the draft and as it got to the 30th pick, I said to the hubby, they are putting up a lot of stats/facts on screen, after putting up headshots of players selected in the rounds before him, looked at him and said, they're letting Ryan, Rebecca, and Andraya finish their bit before Cathy comes out to announce a live pick. Not sure how many draft eligibles were left in the audience at this point. He "pshaw-ed" me and I heard guard and said Kaitlyn is getting drafted by the Valkaries. Woop woop! Same thing for the 37th pick, a bunch of facts and I said Aubrey is going to Minny as they love Huskies. Double woop hoop!

The only thing better than Kaitlyn and Aubrey getting drafted is that now you get to remind your husband (repeatedly!) that you called it and he doubted you.

Geno mentioned some party Paige was having afterwards, so I’m guessing she’s picking up the tab for tonight’s team festivities. Also helps that you can just drive to NYC from Storrs while everyone else has to fly in from wherever.
Hmmm, I didn't get an invitation. Strange. Anybody else's mail get messed up?

Showing her class, Paige made a discreet wardrobe change after the W tried to over-glam her.
Here she is no longer having to hold herself together. Love her.

Hopefully the Lynx give Aubrey a chance to get back into the swing of things. Give her a few reps and she could be a decent bench player.

I worry that she's too similar to Taylor Soule, who was athletic as hell, but the Lynx waived her because of her inability to provide any sort of offense. Hopefully Aubrey can get her shot back.

Kaitlyn and Aubrey would not be the first Husky 3rd rounders to make a team. Don't know the full number, but Saniya Chong had several great games on the Dallas Wings including one where she led the team over the then defending champion Sparks. You never know what could happen.

I'll be a tough row to hoe for both Kailyn and Aubrey. Even if they don't stick now, they've raised their profile by being WNBA draftees. They'll learn the pro ropes and make contacts. It can only help in securing a decent contract somewhere overseas, if necessary or desired.

I wanted Jocyte for UConn, but I guess that ship has now sailed.
I don't think she was ever coming here, and if you're a top international player that can cut the line by virtue of the lower age requirement to get into the W, why wouldn't you?

The reason would be to build a brand. The WNBA is not the lucrative payoff at the end of the line it is for men's players and the NBA.

It will be interesting to see how Blanca Quiñonez makes out in the NIL portion of being a UConn Husky.

This may not be an accurate assumption. For all we know Jocyte could have been doing that already in Europe while playing in their pro leagues.

She’ll be in the US on a student visa, not a work visa, which limits how she can make money. I believe only passive income from tees is allowed, no commercials or sponsorships.

I did forget about that. You would think this issue would be accounted for in the new agreement.

To build a brand in the United States. Basketball is popular in Lithuania, so I would assume she isn't having a hard time building her brand there.

I was thinking Europe as a whole versus the US considering she's been playing Euroleague. Her brand in North America might not be as important to her as we may assume.

"The W" does not dictate what players wear. Each person makes that decision for herself, which is why you see such a wide variety of fits. As for Paige, a couple of days before the draft her stylist revealed that she would wear more than one fit to the event.
