2025 WCBB Coaches Hot Seat edition (merged)

Lindsay Laroque gonna land the ASU or BYU jobs?

Also what about the Wazzu Coach?

Gibb is from Raymond, Alberta, an LDS community. So might be tough to pry her out of there...

They also have Kailey Woolston coming back from her 18-month mission (I think she'll be back 2025) and she was 13 pts and 47% from three as a freshman. I'd bet on most of the gals staying put. She would have been on the Big 12 freshman team if 2023 had not been a loaded class for the Big 12.

Well consider me surprised. Two coaches who clearly weren't working out were let go after 3 seasons. Looks like overall the tolerance for not winning is declining in wcbb.

If they had 5-year contracts, and they have completed 3 seasons, you kind of either have to extend them or cut the cord. No use having them coaching a fourth season if the future outlook is not good.

So after talking with a couple of sources and others, I think there's going to be at least 14 P-5 coaching jobs opening up. A couple of them pretty shocking to be honest.

Open: Auburn, Mizzou, Houston, BYU, ASU

P4 changes that could still happen? (Years at school)
  • ACC: SMU (4)
  • SEC:
  • BiG: NWern (17), Wisconsin (4), Rutgers (3)
  • B12: TxT (5), UCF (2)
Prob safe: UVa (3), Ark (8), Ariz (9)

Nothing is really shocking in the coaching profession anymore. You go in knowing that at any moment, you could be out of a job. Sad but it is the nature of the coaching profession, unless you are a middle school coach. Then you kind of get the benefit of the doubt. As you go up the coaching levels, the pressure gets worse.

I don't know why you keep listing Arkansas. My guy ain't going anywhere. Just saying.

I predict that one conference will lose more coaches than another.

Not sure I'd consider Arkansas safe. Virginia is perhaps a warm not hot seat.

What about TAMU and Georgia? Both seem clearly headed in the wrong direction.

A&M could make a change. I think Georgia will get one more, but I also thought that about Elzy and Harper last year.

Also wondering about Penn State. Seemed very dysfunctional and somehow managed to finish dead last in a conference with Northwestern, Purdue, Rutgers and Wisconsin

Didn’t PennSt already confirm Kieger eill be back?

TaMu : 50/50

Georgia: She'll get 1 more yr.

UVA: Mox was "50/50" as well but apparently that donation from Serena Williams husband bought her another year. That and the fact that she has recruited VERY well and they would likely lose all there players.
