I hope this is good news for Jada. She seems like a good kid. I wouldn't be surprised to see her best friend from high school join her: Breya Cunningham.

Okay, I've defended Adia, but I think I'm done. She simply cannot retain talent. I think Pueyo and Reese are the only players that have stuck with her through their entire careers. Everybody else left.

The 1.2 million dollar fashionista coach loses another . . . . I wonder about an assertion I made the Loree Payne of NAU is a more successful coach. I'm looking at you @nwhoopfan The patience down in the dirty t is certainly being tested. . . .

:) . . . . like you, perhaps the dirty t is done with the 1.2 million dollar coach (highest paid in the Big 12) who does seem to be able to hold on to a breathtaking wardrobe but not players? The kitties, their profligate school management, the donors, hum I just wonder if they will see what happens with the fashionista and her philosophy, development limitations and double bird . . . will there be one more year? Inquiring minds want to know.

It was known she was going to enter the portal as far back as before the regular season was over.

I still think it's silly to even have a conversation about. One of them has been to a National Championship game and has 7 Tourney wins, the other has 0. Also total D1 wins and winning percentage tilts well in favor of one of them. I don't know what possible definition of success you can be using that would put Payne ahead. More likable person, I'll give you that for sure.

I don't.

I believe I said - over the past 3 years. It is clear over that period who is the more effective coach. This profession is - what have you done lately. And lately

Payne over the last 3 years, increasing victories - 27 this year
First post season appearance
First post season win
11 returning players

1.2 million dollar coach over the past 3 years
Declining victories - 19 this year
No post season this year
0 returning players - just kidding - Cooper, Gilbert, Vonleh all gone in the past and who knows this year

Now, I grant you the apples oranges as the 1.2 million dollar coach is P4, makes 8 times in salary, has given the double bird on national TV, has a revolving door in the dirty t, .. . . .

Hey, I am still a Sun Devil (and Jack) fan so my bias is clear, but perhaps with a touch of truth?

Okay. Narrowing the parameters changes the outcome.

Obviously Barnes is getting diminishing returns and her time in Tucson may be coming to an end. NAU had a really good season and their fans have reason to be optimistic about the future. Hey I like Payne, she's a Husky as I'm sure I've reminded you before.

Was fully expected when she didn't play in the WBIT. It was announced ahead of time that it was her choice, she would be in pain but couldn't hurt herself further. In the same condition (different specific injury) Skyler Jones chose to play. Said she didn't want to be in the WBIT but since she was she was going to give it her all. Said that Cunningham and Beh also gave their all. Noted that some others didn't. Sounded like a call out of Williams to me.

Hope she finds a good fit. She was a great leader and one of the few players that knew what was supposed to happen on specific plays. But wasn't really a great point guard and wasn't consistent shooting / scoring. Many fan's take was she thought she was better than she was. My take was she was the best player on the team, but we needed a better player ("star") to be successful.

She isn't toxic, that has never been the problem. Almost all players actually like her. But I don't think her coaching style is really compatible with today's players - as I recently read, she is "pro style". Everything is based on waiting your turn, being a teammate, earning your minutes and especially playing defense. For example, I really liked Madison Conner, but I didn't blame her for leaving - she was never going to be anything but a specialist coming in to hit 3's in Adia's world. I have never understood Adia's substitution patterns.

Wouldn't you want to leave and go somewhere you might go deep in the tournament? Adia doesn't build a team well, folks are always playing out of position, etc.

To top it all off, she announced in the paper that she is giving up on developing players from high school and just want's players that can win from the portal. This was what got her in hot water for recruiting over her existing players before the current class - however, I will remind everyone that she only lost one player to the portal from last year, and that was for (good) academic reasons.
