Question: Do we think the portal will be insane this year? Or will it finally mellow out since almost all of the Covid 5th years are out of eligibility?
Instead of a 5th Covid year, we'll be dealing with the graduating JUCO players being granted one more year. That will probably have a larger effect on football than any other sport, but it will probably slightly inflate the transfer market in most other sports.Question: Do we think the portal will be insane this year? Or will it finally mellow out since almost all of the Covid 5th years are out of eligibility?
I'll look at this with an eye on the Reynolds . They -- and close friends/other players - on Washington H.S. in South Bend have been a unit since Steve Reynolds took over as head coach. He's done an admirable job with the program, with his daughters playing a large part in the personnel area.Looks like Purdue is going to lose at least 2 to the portal and 1 incoming recruit.
All the Reynolds sisters will be going elsewhere according to the guy who's followed the program forever.

Purdue women's basketball offseason tracker: Reynolds sisters leaving program
The departures leave the Boilermakers with eight players for next season but additions from the transfer portal are expectedmikecarmin.substack.com
I don't think so. There are about three, maybe five, ACC players who would lead me to rethink that stance if they hopped into the portal and landed elsewhere. That number is about the same for the SEC.Question: Do we think the portal will be insane this year? Or will it finally mellow out since almost all of the Covid 5th years are out of eligibility?
My guess is UCONN or USCBoom! There's the one everybody was waiting for. Let the bidding begin.
