Per Talia Goodman -

Wake Forest post player Demeara Hinds has entered the transfer portal. She averaged 9.3 ppg and 5.6 rpg last season.

Wofford guard Rachael Rose has entered the transfer portal. She averaged 22.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 2.1 steals in the 2023-24 season.

Per Talia Goodman - BREAKING: BYU sophomore Amari Whiting plans to enter the transfer portal, she told On3sports. Whiting averaged 10.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and two steals per game last season.
Amari originally committed to Oregon but was released from that (pre-LOI) to follow her Mom to BYU. Not a surprise. Is Oregon still interested.? Lot of guards still on roster but only two bigs.

Did the portal already open for the Spring window? Thought last year was the Monday after Selection Sunday.

.-.
Reminder - The transfer portal is open for all graduate transfers or any program who has undergone a coaching change. The portal opens for everyone else on March 25.

For coaching changes, does the portal really apply before the official Spring window opens? Thought that exception was for after the portal closed again.

Good Q. If I had to guess, since the portal is closed to undergrads in normal situations, if there's a coaching change, that would let them go into it.

I wonder if Dawn will take a look at a giving a home state connected shooting guard a shot at the big leagues?

No contact tag, huh?
Does she stay in the SEC (Arkansas, Auburn)? Does she go after year another "A" school (Alabama), stay home in Florida or go to a school that pushes pace? Stay tuned.
She obviously has a lot of talent. However she unfortunately also has two seasons in a row that she has missed time due to injury. I wonder how that impacts any decisions.

I, too, was wondering about that "no contact" option. Could mean that after entering the transfer portal a year ago, she knows what NOT selecting the "no contact" option brings in that she was probably bombarded with text messages, emails, phone calls, etc. So, if she wants to avoid that this time around and have more control over things, she now gets to reach out to the handful of schools she likes.

Or, based on who she considered one year ago as transfer destinations, her runner-up choices might have a leg up and she is destined for one of them.

Looks like Purdue is going to lose at least 2 to the portal and 1 incoming recruit.
All the Reynolds sisters will be going elsewhere according to the guy who's followed the program forever.

Welp, the writing is definitely on the wall! Purdue was depending on those sisters to revitalize the program. It will be interesting to see where they land (and if they're a package deal or decide to split up).

And this after losing Mary Ashley Stevenson (sp?) last year: Geralds is gone. I'm hoping Serah Williams considers MN. They could do some damage if they had a center.

If that was the plan, it wasn't a good one . I always thought she just wanted the youngest sister (Kira -2025 recruit) and took the others to help solidify her chances of getting Kira.
Gearlds looks to be getting another year, honestly, I wish she'd just resign now.
Doubt Purdue will be able to get a good coach to replace and get the ship right.
Is Lin Dunn available?

Question: Do we think the portal will be insane this year? Or will it finally mellow out since almost all of the Covid 5th years are out of eligibility?

Instead of a 5th Covid year, we'll be dealing with the graduating JUCO players being granted one more year. That will probably have a larger effect on football than any other sport, but it will probably slightly inflate the transfer market in most other sports.

I'll look at this with an eye on the Reynolds . They -- and close friends/other players - on Washington H.S. in South Bend have been a unit since Steve Reynolds took over as head coach. He's done an admirable job with the program, with his daughters playing a large part in the personnel area.

As their dad and presumed chief advisor, he first sent his first two daughters to Maryland, then Purdue (the youngest, Kira was supposed to join next season but that won't happen.). Where's next? Will they stay together as a group or try things on their own?
If the former, they're like taller versions of the Hayes sisters, who eventually ended up at Marshall and had their best years under current Tennessee coach Kim Caldwell.

Older sisters Kim and Amiyah have never really broken out, due to injuries and inconsistent playing time. Or, have they reached their ceiling in P5?

In any case, their dad/guiding light Steve Reynolds will be along for the ride, having just resigned from Washington HS.

I don't think so. There are about three, maybe five, ACC players who would lead me to rethink that stance if they hopped into the portal and landed elsewhere. That number is about the same for the SEC.

My guess is UCONN or USC
A point guard will be UConn’s main priority. Plus, Azzi Fudd needs to announce her intentions soon. If she leaves then a shooting guard may come first. But for one year Williams sure sounds good.
