I'm not sure people understand this. There are fans out there that are all in on UConn when they are in a meaningful league. Otherwise, they can't be bothered. These are that folks who filled The Rent when it was rocking. They'll come back when we get a seat at the table and not before.
I love the optimism but 25k season ticket holders would imply an average attendance over 36,000 per game. Thats just not happening where this program is at right now.
Even if they don't end up showing those seats can be filled by friends and family, through the secondary market, or by donation.

This is a fair point. I have season tickets to mens basketball (both venues) and football. From an economic perspective the basketball tickets make some sense because the secondary market ticket costs of the in demand games are generally much higher than the cost of the ticket in the season ticket package. In other words, I'm buying the nonconference cupcake game tickets so I can get the St Johns and Arizona games for the same price. Football tickets are, as you note, cheap and easy to find. Still, I feel better about myself when I but the football season tickets - the same feeling that I get when I donate to a worthy charity. So my unsolicited advice - if you want to support the football program and the entire athletic department, pull the trigger on a couple of inexpensive football season tickets. Then you can come on to the Boneyard and preface every post with, "As a season ticket holder, I was disappointed/thrilled to see ..."

Me too....my 2 cents and just to share, is I have 2 seasons tix in the family value section (only $69 each + FIT fee for the season, a great deal for anyone) I've kept for years to give away to friends..... And switched my lower level sideline seats @ around the 40 yd line...to club seats last year....+ met a bunch of fans from down below who did the same thing and love it.....
You could buy 10,000 season tickets as well.

We had guys that wouldn't even pay for parking. But one guy made great clam chowder so they were always welcome.

I was at the game, and I don’t recall there being too many Michigan fans outside of the Michigan section.
If you find the arial view of the Rent for that game, you'll see lots of maize colored jerseys across the whole stadium. Impressive turnout by MI fans, no doubt.
There plenty of UConn fans a well. That was a tough ticket.
AT least a third, if not 40%, of fans in the building were MIchigan fans. While some blue and maize were in the season ticket section, many simply purchased season tickets, mini-plan tickets or single game tickets directly from UConn. By 2013, we weren't getting 30k in the building for normal games.
