2025 Recruiting Thread

So does Monday's ruling from the NCAA that will now allow former junior college players who would have been out of eligibility following this season -- to return for an additional year in 2025-26, mean Jordan Wright will have an additional year of eligibility for UConn? The waiver does not extend to all junior college athletes, only those who would have completed their NCAA eligibility this year. I think he is the only one who fits that category - is there another?
 
I have a question about the Portal and if we are going to be adding more players. It seems like the Portal is closed as of Dec 28th. Does that mean we are done adding recruits? Seems like we were adding players during the summer last year. Also do you think we add another QB?

Mora has done an incredible job navigating the new ways of college football recruiting. We are lucky to have him!!!

Players playing in bowl games have 5 days after their game to enter the portal. So any team that is still playing will probably have players enter the portal. For all teams that are done playing, the portal is closed. Unless of course their HC leaves for some reason. Then they can also enter. So in theory, it's closed. But in reality, it's still very open.

If you are in the Portal by your situational deadline - you are in the Portal. The Portal also re-opens April 16th > 25th 2025.

According to the list, we currently have roughly 20 offers out to Portal transfers. Do any of them jump out as having Program Changing upside?

I don’t think so, but Mora has already signed several guys who can fill big holes next year.
 
Most of the major holes have been filled, Bell returning was also crucial as we are losing Sheffield and Buckman to graduation and Montgomery to the portal. It wouldn't hurt to grab an impact defensive player though.

Agreed, right now I think we are pretty reloaded on offense.

Defense given the scale of losses to graduation and the portal, I’d love one more big body up front and LB/ edge rusher type.
