If they take Harper at #2, then that would make sense. I wouldn't be surprised if they move the pick.

They really need a big bad. Bassey and Sandro as depth is not it.

Right, but do they want a rookie big to pair with Castle, Harper and Wemby? I think they can use a more veteran presence.

Wouldn't be shocked if they use some of their draft capital to swing a deal for a solid big man. Who that is, I have no idea. Imagine if they had gotten the #7 pick and drafted Clingan last year...

The Celtics have a lightly used Latvian Center they can have for #14. We'll even throw in #32 and take Barnes' salary back.

I'm sure Maluach is on their radar. Curious if they'd try to move up to get him and look at him as their big man of the future. I believe Wemby's been quoted saying he'd prefer to play the 4 too.

I think the issue with playing a non-floor spacing 4 next to Wemby is that it allows teams to possibly use a 4 who can guard the perimeter on Wemby. If a 5 has to play him, they have no chance to stick with him on the perimeter. That being said, they need a backup big, and it’d be nice if that player could play alongside him at times, with Wemby still playing the majority of his minutes at the 5. Sam Vecenie mocked Cedric Coward to the Spurs, mentioning Maluach and Beringer as other options, although they might have to trade up for those two. McNeeley wouldn’t be a bad fit at all, either. They could still pursue a big in free agency (Al Horford?), or trade the #14 pick if none of the guys they like are there. I can’t wait to see how this all pans out.

Here’s hoping for a wild draft week! I’d love for McNeeley to end up there, but he’s not somebody they’d have to trade up for.

That would be a really fun combo, especially if Wolf becomes a respectable shooter. I’d enjoy some Wolf and Wemby pick and rolls.

14. San Antonio Spurs
Danny Wolf, Michigan (F, 6-10, 251 pounds)Wolf thrived alongside big man Vladislav Goldin in his lone year at Michigan, and could excel next to Wembanyama. He can play some on the ball, is a threat from deep and his development in recent years tells the story of a prospect still ascending.
This seems to make sense for a big.

i do not see Liam lasting to 27, if so, some team getting a hell of a player at the spot.

I actually don’t think that would be a good pick. The Spurs are about to have 3-4 players who’s strength is with the ball in their hand (Wemby, Fox, Steph and Harper) and that is also Wolf’s strength. Not saying he would start, but I think Kristaps or a stretch big would be better.

Liam would be a really good fit, IMO.
I think Wolf is getting this big bump as a prospect because some people see him as a poor man's Jokic.
He's such a poverty version that it makes it a silly comparison.
