2025 MLB Playoffs Thread

Dodgers advantage with Japanese players is really helping the cause.
Just a short flight, well shorter flight to LA in relative proximity compared to NY. Ohtani is one hell of a recruit he takes a ton of pressure off incoming Japenese players.

Especially with a pitcher with six MLB pitches. Incredible complete game throwing 104 pitches retiring last 20 hitters.

That was quite the display of pitching. It goes to show how important it is to grind in the playoffs. Ohtani vs Mil, Yesavage in gm 1, and Yoshi last night. Yesavage somehow didn't get knocked out in the 1st or 3rd, despite having no command and a flat and reduced fastball. Him keeping that game close was actually huge momentum that the Jays harnessed, paired with their incredible two strike hitting.

Yamamoto had a rough first couple innings, but again showed incredible composure. Every inning that went by it was obvious that he was getting stronger. Just what the doctor ordered for LA.

I am finding this series so far to be interesting with some cool story lines, great performances, and a knifes edge vibe.

Alex Vesia being unavailable will keep the pressure on the SP to go deep, but hopefully his wife and child make it though ok.

Injury alert - Springer may have an oblique injury from a swing. He came out of the game. Ty France replacing him.

Ohtani 4-4...two homers two doubles. What was that pitcher thinking greasing a fastball right down the middle first pitch?

He could be out of the series. This injury ended Roman Anthony’s season and he is 15 years younger.

Heck of a game which is now tied by Ohtani HR

Jays had a mound visit too wasted no time on the first pitch, Jays now have a lineup with no Springer or Bichette in a tie game at best.

In a World Series through this is Springer we’re talking about here, he’s as tough as they come, they will wing it.

Why did Schneider take Bichette out of the game? He makes some really strange decisions.

Yeah it was dumb there were 2 outs and IKF should be saved for later in the game as a PR.

He’s not real. I think he’s AI. At what point do you just start pitching around him?

I didn't like him subbing out Barger for Myles Straw either.

Ha, I always call him AI. He's been struggling but in his last two home games he's 7-7 with 5 home runs and oh yeah he threw in a 10 strikeout shutout for good measure. That's pretty good, lolz.

Japan's population keeps shrinking but I'm waiting for Japanese dudes to take over MLB.

Taking all their best players out, he probably just told Vlad he's done for the evening after he popped out.

Bichette is injured and can barely move, it was an obvious move to make when IKF would have come in for defense in the bottom of the inning anyway. Although after IKF got thrown out there a slower base runner wouldn't have hurt

Oh come on, he can move. This is the World Series and it was just a 1 run lead where you have to get through the Dodgers lineup for three more innings if it's a 9 inning game and possibly more innings. You need to leave your best players in the game especially already being down one of your best players
