2025 MLB Playoffs Thread

Ohtani's last two home games he's reached base 13 out of 13 plate appearances with 5 home runs, 2 doubles, 6 walks (4 intentional walks in a row) and 6 shutout innings with 10 strikeouts. Oh yeah and he's pitching today.
If he goes out and pins an incredible pitching performance his legend may hit all time status if not there already.

He's hitting cyborg status. How do the Jays recoup on the road after that one? Tonight is basically do or die for them as far as I see it. LAD has something going on right now that feels like the 90's Yanks.

Freeman has one of the most distinct mugs in MLB history - like a cross between Ben Affleck & Jim Carey from the Mask with a perfect butt chin. He looks like he was made to play the sport.

Underrated storyline: what a night for BigErn to take in his first Dodger game of the season. I have no rooting interest but that was incredible.
Did you stay until the end? Luckily the game started at 5:00 out there.

Any word on when he may come back? But I hope the Jays can tie up the series.
Nope, I think most people assumed he was done for the World Series but he's on the bench tonight. He's tough, I bet he comes back for the next game.

Quite a start for the Jays with back to back HRs. Springer is available to pinch hit.

How is Kiner-Falefa a World Series starter? Dude is so awful.
Right there was a bunt opportunity to move a runner over to 3B with IKF after wild pitch which moved runner to 2nd, if your gonna bunt that was your chance to do it oh well . We’ll have 2nd and 3rd now with 1 out.

IKF just is what he is a utility guy stepping into a role as a starter it would be truly impressive if the Jays could pull off 4 wins over this Dodger team, while dealing with injuries to their 2 stars.

It may come down to Yamamoto on Friday. Dodger’s big bats neutralized tonight by Yesavage.

Jays have outscored the Dodgers 29-18 and that's without Springer for 2.5 games, they look like the better team. Dodgers lucked out in game 3 when Springer went down and Schneider started pulling his other best hitters out of the game. Yamamoto is a stud but Jays have the advantage now going home for two and Springer will probably get some at bats.

Dodgers looked good for a lot of the early playoffs, but this is what they were all year. A very inconsistent team. There's a reason they were in the wild card game. Anything can happen in 2 games but the Jays were the better team most of the year

Jays are the better team and we’re highly over looked going into the playoffs. Would still be impressive if they can pull it off considering they were also down 2-0, then 3-2 against Seattle.

Well we know Cashman and Hal are gonna look very bad no matter what the end result is and that’s good, do I expect things to change no but they deserve whatever backlash they get. If Jays pull this off obviously or if Yammamoto is a postseason hero and gets it to a game 7 and Dodgers go back to back.

Springer with 3 days off now. Jays got the Dodgers by the throat now have to finish them off.

I feel TERRIBLE for the Dodgers. Maybe they can buy Judge and Acuna for Games 6 and 7

Dodgers bats have awoken, notice everything said in this thread has been a jinx. “Ohtani is the goat”, then what happens he goes hitless. “The Dodgers are done” then the Dodgers go up 3-0.

Ohtani is the goat at this stage of his career was comical regardless of jinxes. He’s one of the most unique and had some of the best seasons ever but it takes more to be the best baseball player in history.

He is ridiculous though the goat talk a bit premature, he did recruit Yammamoto to the Dodgers btw, making a recruiting pipeline with Japanese players to LA.
