2025 Bowl Predictions

Wouldn’t that just be a USF home game? I don’t think I’d love it. Wouldn’t mind playing them. Prefer not to play them in Tampa.
More fans is better. And if they get more fans and we get more fans in a good location where people want to go it's a win win. We're likely to play a Southern school in the South no matter. Hopefully we learned something yesterday that can help on the rebound. And also get some guys healthy. Right now they probably need a break. I wonder if they had the option to stay down here an extra day or two.

Athlon Sports projection:

Myrtle Beach Bowl (Dec. 19)

Location: Brooks Stadium in Conway, S.C.
Tie-In: Sun Belt vs. AAC/CUSA/MAC
Projection: FIU vs. UConn

I hope not. Do they realized UConn played and destroyed FIU earlier this season?
They must be using AI for these "predictions".

Someone must have finally done some research as the new opponent is Kenneasaw State. FIU is now playing Miami Of Ohio in the Bahamas Bowl.

Bahamas Bowl (TBD)

So the question is:

Do we think we may be genuinely locked out?
Absolutely no chance bowl organizations are turning down 9-3 UConn with a star QB, WR AND RB for 6-6 FIU or Arkansas State. At this point; we should be worried about where we’re going and who we’re facing.

Odds are they might give us preferential treatment in location/opponent especially seeing Fenway last year.

Pretty sure there is no Bahama Bowl this year (it’s definitely not in the Bahamas and believe I read it’s cancelled this year)

I'll say it 1 more time, Penn State in the Pinstripe would be amazing. Place would feel like a big time bowl.
Yeah, except our D would be shredded to pieces. We are best served by a mid-level P4 with a terrible O and solid D. I like our chances against a solid D.

It would suck royally if we end up facing a bad G5 team in a bowl that's far away.

This team deserves a good P4 opponent at a location UConn fans can get to easily. With our offense, we can be very exciting and fun. Pinstripe bowl against the B10 would be great even though it's not in the warm weather.

While I’m 90% with you here, 10% of my mind says that our defense plays down or up to our opponent

Bowl organizers want an exciting game not a defensive and field position battle. Our offense is going to get us in a bowl somewhere. Even if ESPN needs to fabricate a few new ones.

Sometimes I really hate the way this is all set up. There is no world when this team isn't in a bowl game. 9 wins, exciting football, a QB to receiver combo that is worth watching. There just shouldn't be any doubt about a game somewhere.
Sometimes???

CBS Sports doesn't have us in their most updated Bowl Projections. I think it's the first week we've been excluded

Our offense will get us to a good bowl game, for their play and human interest stories. We'll end up in a decent bowl against a middling P4 school.

Yep, that’s what we’ve been discussing. Is this a lock out or just a mistake?

On the positive side, both ESPN analysts have us predicted in bowls this week (one of them left us out last week). This supports the possibility that it was just a mistake by CBS.

Penn St & Northwestern winning yesterday did not help our cause.

Because of that, my guess is our bowl will be at a less than ideal location against a mid-level G school opponent played on one of the earlier dates.

Considering where we were merely four years ago I'll take it. I would have greatly preferred a better bowl fate, but I'll take whatever we get.

I think you're right. Either way, that's the peril of independence. It is what it is, but it doesn't diminish what this team accomplished.

If we would have won at least two of those three overtime games, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

The lesson is, if you don't have bowl tie ins, then you have to take care of business on the field.

No one can argue with 11-1

I just hope we get a bowl and don’t get left out. I don’t foresee them leaving out a 9-3 team but they’ve left out 8 win conference affiliates teams before. Small chance but as some say, there’s a chance.

Currently 80 bowl spots and 75 bowl eligible teams.

Let’s be real: 6-6 teams are likely going be outed first—a 9-3 UConn is a lot of insurance, thankfully.

Aren't there Bowl slots with no conference tie-in? A 9-3 UConn should have no problem getting the nod over some 6-6 directional Michigan school

Some 6-6 directional G5 school is not getting a bowl before us. Gimme Gasparilla vs. an FSU team in disarray. Return to Fenway vs. an N.C. State would be good. Pinstripe versus Pitt or Minnesota would be cool too. The Dirty Myrtle (Conway) - no thanks.
