Would love either, or any bowl game at all, but especially would love to see the Metro North crowd pack Yankee Stadium for the Pinstripe Bowl against a B10 team.

100%. If we somehow pull off a 9-3 or 10-2 year, I would be super super disappointed to end up in the joes-hardware.com bowl against Southern Alabama or a CUSA/SBC school.

For me, it's Pop Tarts or Pinstripe Bowl.

Pinstripe would be amazing, to get a big UConn crowd. But i wouldn't want to play Rutgers. Technically a B1G school but... it's rutgers, the win wouldn't really do much for us, IMO.

Fenway is nice too, but obviously don't want to repeat that if we can avoid it. I'd assume they don't want us again either, so that's probably not a concern.

Someone above said "Penn State" - honestly if they have a lackluster year and hobble to a 6-6 record, I'd love to have a crack at them. It would be the Navy/White Game! We should wear our white helmets & white pants :)

Btw just noticed the B1G is 9-1 vs ACC in Pinstripe, including 8 in a row

Not entirely true. We got the Fenway Bowl last year because the AAC and Fenway Bowl was willing to swap us in. Bowls will trade teams if it makes sense geographically and they can profit more. If I recall correctly, Tulane was slotted to come up here, but they were happy to instead play in the Gasparilla Bowl versus Florida. Better fit for them, us, and everyone involved. Makes complete sense that the Fenway or Pinstripe bowl would rather have us, and the fans we’d bring, than some random 7 win team like Wake or East Carolina

We ended up at Fenway last year because of a bit of horse trading when the AAC (who has one of the two spots) couldn't fill all of their tie-ins (or possibly were able to secure a bowl they didn't have a tie-in with, I don't recall which) was willing to leave that bowl open. Fenway wanted us due to location and it paid off for them.

At the moment it appears that every ACC school that has a logical path to bowl eligibility needs to become bowl eligible for that conference to use all of its tie-ins this year. Another possibility would be two playoff bids for the ACC but that is unlikely.

My point is that if one ACC tie-in becomes open, don't be surprised if the Pinstripe lobbies for us as the replacement, in part because of our fan showing in Fenway last year.

Bigger picture; we keep winning and let the chips fall where they fall.
 
Wasting your time on the pinstripe

The pinstripe has an enormous payout for a mid type bowl, over 4 million. The Yankees had to offer this to get p5 conferences to agree to a contract.

There is no way the Big or ACC is giving that $$ up. If either didn't have enough teams for their bowl line up, they would give up a lesser paying bowl.

What the organizers would want wouldn't matter either, the conferences have a contract.

I was really hoping for a warm-weather bowl last year, but I agree that Fenway was really fun...the weather was better than forecast, the bars were hopping with UConn fans, and the game result was pretty great, as well. I don't hate the idea this year (but still hope for a warm destination.)

This. This is why anyone who wants to simplify the process, or talk about the sanctity of contracts, is barking up the wrong tree. Swaps can be made, and adjusting monetary payouts can be part of the deal.
 
Was at the Fenway Bowl last year. And i must admit it we (the fans) brought it!
I'm hoping to take MetroNorth down to the Bronx this year with 25k of of my closest friends!!!!
My wife & I will be flying anywhere we are invited to. But, also understand not everyone will.
So, we're looking for energy! Would love to alternate b/w Boston & NY.
 
Lol the Gasparlla bowl paid the same as the Fenway to the AAC , and Tulane preferred to play Florida in a southern location.

in a bowl the AAC has an agreement to fill when asked along with seven other conferences. That's how they were made whole

A 4.5 million dollar bowl is a whole other ballgame, there are not many of those

The first two would be good due to the competition. And playing Wake would give UConn a chance to avenge last season’s loss and the loss in the Meineke Bowl in Charlotte. I attended the later and enjoyed the first half until Wake came back to win.
 
Idk who needs to hear this, but we won’t be in the Pop Tarts Bowl. That’s becoming a marquee bowl with all the cool marketing gimmicks they do, and I think they take two high finishers from power conferences.

I too want the Pop Tarts Bowl, but we need to adjust our expectations.

That was not the vacation spot Myrtle Beach---that would be the coast during the summer. It truly is a fun place.

and as for 3-9, I too totally agree it could have been significantly better with a few minor breaks our way. We were close in several games.

I agree...Myrtle in summer is very different from Myrtle in the winter. We had an Airbnb on the beach for the bowl game. The day after the game, we had to kill time until an evening flight and walked the boardwalk...completely dead and vacant until we found a hideaway dive bar with pool tables and drank the locals under the table...and beat them at pool, to boot. Would have been more fun if we had won the game in that dreary weather.
