I doubt Rutgers even gets to 6 wins. Just glancing at the B1G standings, teams like Minnesota, Iowa, or even Penn State seem more likelyIf we' go to the Pinstripe Bowl to play a Big10 team I'm not interested in Rutgers (barf). That's a no win situation. A Rutgers win drags us down and a UConn win would draw a "who cares Rutgers stinks" response. I would rather play any other average Big10 team.
The thought that PSU, who went into the season thinking they could compete for a national championship, would give a crap about a bowl game in December in the Bronx against us after finishing 6-6 is preposterous. I'd love our odds in that oneI doubt Rutgers even gets to 6 wins. Just glancing at the B1G standings, teams like Minnesota, Iowa, or even Penn State seem more likely

For what it’s worth, at 34:00 Graham states that with an 8/9 win regular season, his sources have said the Pinstripe Bowl or a repeat of Fenway would both be a real possibility. Would love either, or any bowl game at all, but especially would love to see the Metro North crowd pack Yankee Stadium for the Pinstripe Bowl against a B10 team.
100%. If we somehow pull off a 9-3 or 10-2 year, I would be super super disappointed to end up in the joes-hardware.com bowl against Southern Alabama or a CUSA/SBC school.PopTarts bowl or bust
Btw just noticed the B1G is 9-1 vs ACC in Pinstripe, including 8 in a rowWe only get a bowl if a conference cannot fill all of their slots. I don’t see how the Pinstripe is a possibility.
Not entirely true. We got the Fenway Bowl last year because the AAC and Fenway Bowl was willing to swap us in. Bowls will trade teams if it makes sense geographically and they can profit more. If I recall correctly, Tulane was slotted to come up here, but they were happy to instead play in the Gasparilla Bowl versus Florida. Better fit for them, us, and everyone involved. Makes complete sense that the Fenway or Pinstripe bowl would rather have us, and the fans we’d bring, than some random 7 win team like Wake or East CarolinaWe only get a bowl if a conference cannot fill all of their slots. I don’t see how the Pinstripe is a possibility.
Fenway is nice too, but obviously don't want to repeat that if we can avoid it. I'd assume they don't want us again either, so that's probably not a concern.

It used to be the Festivus Bowl until SERENITY NOW relaxation techniques (tm) became corporate sponsor.Better yet, late December - the Festivus Bowl
I was really hoping for a warm-weather bowl last year, but I agree that Fenway was really fun...the weather was better than forecast, the bars were hopping with UConn fans, and the game result was pretty great, as well. I don't hate the idea this year (but still hope for a warm destination.)Personally I would be thrilled if we went to the Fenway Bowl every year. Going to last year's game was one of the most enjoyable and unique experiences I've had as a UConn sports fan.
Every year? Boringggggg.Personally I would be thrilled if we went to the Fenway Bowl every year. Going to last year's game was one of the most enjoyable and unique experiences I've had as a UConn sports fan.
This. This is why anyone who wants to simplify the process, or talk about the sanctity of contracts, is barking up the wrong tree. Swaps can be made, and adjusting monetary payouts can be part of the deal.I believe part of the deal with the AAC last year was that they were kept whole.... they got the money for the higher rated bowl (Fenway) while UConn got the money for the bowl slot they otherwise would've been into.
Deals get made. Fenway wasn't a possibility last year until it was.We only get a bowl if a conference cannot fill all of their slots. I don’t see how the Pinstripe is a possibility.
