2025 Bowl Predictions

I just can't imagine Chesney going that far west...he went from Salve (RI) to Assumption (MA) to HC (MA) before he went down the JMU (VA)...other spots will open that are a better fit for him.
It still boggles my mind that schools like Salve Regina and Assumption fiels football teams.

I could be wrong, but when I was an undergrad (fall 78 - spring 82) both were all girls schools.

I don't think people understand that bowl tie-ins are much more fluid now. The focus is now on good matchups that will drive TV ratings and geographically make sense to bring fans to the game. This year, it looks like the SEC will not be able to fill all of their bowl slots. So, you could have an American team like Memphis, take the SEC Liberty Bowl spot against a Big 12 school. Makes sense. Look at the Fenway Bowl which is listed as AAC vs ACC. Does anybody think the Fenway Bowl would want a distant AAC school against a distant ACC school? No. That is why I think UConn has a shot at the Fenway Bowl.
That’s exactly right. And for those still worried that UConn will be left out there are a few bowls that have no tie ins for at least one of the slots. We are good. Last year was a good example of how bowls now operate. Fenway wanted UConn and negotiated a deal with the others to get us and UNC because that was an interesting matchup. They wanted the whole 2 basketball powers playing football in a baseball stadium thing for marketing.

Salve became coed in 73. Assumption as far as I can see has always been coed. Or it opened as a men's college and was not a big deal when women began attending.

True. That's where the basketball brand pays off. Now we need football to get to a point where the football brand itself holds its own weight. We're still a ways away from that, but we're trending in the right direction.

A couple sites projecting FSU . I would absolutely love to play them. This is a great matchup. I hope it happens. Plus, many of their seniors would probably skip the bowl getting ready for the draft.

.-.
Are we certain Joe, Bell and Parham won't skip the bowl?
Great question and maybe there ends up being a big difference
Pro prospects on traditional football powers like FSU and Penn State playing in a lower bowl might not care
Our guys getting UConn to a bowl game may be more excited to play and want to help their draft status as much as possible

With Penn State and Rutgers yet to be determined if they will be bowl eligible until the play each other Thanksgiving weekend we likely won't know where were going until their bowl eligibility is determined.

Playing a name opponent having a down year would be a lot of fun. Having said that, the only bowl that matters right now is our game at FAU Saturday. There will be 2 weeks to worry about where, when and against whom our bowl is after we get through Saturday.
While you’re not wrong, would not the better path have been to just avoid the thread titled bowl predictions?
