2025-26 New school commitments by Transfers

I continue to marvel at how much the SEC teams raid each other’s rosters.
The way things are going in both WBB and MBB vis-a-vis the intra-conference transfer portal signings, why not consider Skylar Forbes from Marquette? As a forward, she's a strong rebounder and shot blocker, while shooting pretty decently and provide front court depth with both Yanna and Ice leaving. Better than having her join one of our rivals.

Funny, that coach nobody is very confident in went 31-4 in JuJu's last healthy season, and gave UConn its closest tourney game without the injured JuJu.

Most people also think having three US#1 high school players on a roster is a good thing.

For sure Davidson is happy and effective off the ball, she is a 1-4 player. Hall, ironically in her ESPN profile, is listed as a wing. So could be as simple as JuJu show with 2 wings, and possibly the other 5 star freshmen recruits Okeke and Fagan in the frontcourt.

I'll take the leap of faith and put them down as Big10 champ with 30+ wins again.
Tend to agree without looking at their portal haul.
Surprisingly, they already have put together a competent team.

They bring back SBetts and T Gardiner up front. Gardiner, returning from injury, is former OR St and if healthy equal to Dugalic.

Via transfer they already have 3 starting guards, Deas (Ark), Gardiner (OR/TCU), and Aarnisalo (UCLA/NC). Backing this trio up is Bilic, a promising returning soph with limited minutes last year behind all the seniors.

By no means is this a top 5 team, but they could finish #4 in Big10 and be on cut line for hosting ncaa games.
They will be fine, but I agree they aren't going to contend for a title.

A number of folks on the BY have suggested as much. To my knowledge, Geno has never accepted a transfer from any team within UConn’s conference.

This is the big issue for the Trojies. Frankly, it comes down to how Juju plays... and whether she can overcome her ego. If this team can play together, they will DESTROY teams all season long.

I still remember the game against UCLA when Juju decided that maybe she should play some defense in the 4th quarter... and just torched the Bruin offense by herself.
She's a great talent but a volume shooter..........401/.319 in 23/24 and .426/.325 in 24/25 are not great numbers for somebody projected to be the number one player taken in the WNBA draft......perhaps next season she'll be more selective in her shot-taking...

I like this from USC.
I feel like they are accumulating depth.

When I saw her name in the portal I checked out her stats, because I know there was some interest in her last year. After doing so I completely lost interest from a Uconn standpoint because her overall box Plus/Minus adjusted for competition says she is just an average Division 1 player, and at least for last year played at a level that probably couldn't help any serious contender in their rotation.

Injury insurance third stringer maybe, but she was significantly worse than say Ayanna and Ice have been in their Uconn careers. Maybe in her final year of Division 1 competition she can show a major leap.

Oregon starts to rebuild front line after graduating Mia Jacob and portal move Sarah Rambus (to Syracuse)

A good player and a good athlete with some shooting range. Not sure I’d consider her a true post in that league. Maybe more a stretch 4 type.

All I know is, I hated to see her leave Belmont. If you’re not familiar with Belmont, they are a Missouri Valley Conference member but coach Bart Brooks, a long-time disciple of Doug Bruno at Depaul, sets a very challenging pre-conference schedule every year, so Fuller has seen top-notch competition and did not look out of place.

What an odd destination.

What is odd about this? Washington returns 3/4 their four top scorers from a team that made the second round of the NCAA tournament last season. This seems like a great choice to me. Washington has an excellent chance of finishing in the top five in the Big 10 next season and should be a threat to host the first weekend of the NCAA tournament.

Not to mention, if there's anyone who'd be undaunted by Seattle's dark, gray, flat overcast winters, it'd be a Swede. She'll probably find it balmy. 🤣

It was often cold and rainy for about a month in the spring in Charlottesville. My Irish buddy would at some point say “This weather makes me so homesick.”

And...the Northwest has a fairly significant population of Scandinavians. How many in Carolina? She might feel more at home in her new location.

Disappointing to me. Was hoping Graves could pull off a coup for a 6’6’ like Trygger. Instead she goes to arch rival we have to play twice every year. Ducks currently without anyone over 6’2” except incoming Freshman Krstevski. Waiting for another shoe to drop though. We’ll see.

This was several days ago but I just found out about it. Chloe Briggs has committed to Cal Baptist after leaving Washington. I hope she has a great senior season. Big time scorer in high school, didn't translate to college during her time at UW. Hopefully a change of scenery will work out well.
