2025-26 Coaching Carousel

Tough to be hiring a head coach with this many FBS job openings. This increases the probability of just promoting Sammis.
I'm just having re-runs in my mind of Mora saying in the most recent press conferences how brilliant Sammis is and he'll be head coaching a program soon enough and how that program would be lucky to have him. Now it makes sense that he was lobbying for him, when before it just sounded like it was in the same vein that Hurley would give recognition to Murray and Kimani on the men's team.

Maybe Cahill is this years Bob Chesney. If we promote Sammis to HC we will most likely be doing it before our Bowl game. Tough job for AD Dave no doubt with all the recent openings.
Sammis is looking more likely given the number of FBS openings. UConn needs to make a decision quickly to not lose most of the recruiting class and the best players to the portal.

That is even a little more suspicious because if he thinks Sammis is such a genius, he would want to take him with him, not put him in charge of the UConn football program.

I don't know what drives coaches but here's my take. If Sammis is a genius, then he probably knows that him is not a genius and is not a good x & o guy. The staff probably know him well enough to know that him is semi-retired. I also think coaches and players wouldn't be rushing out to siberia for csu no matter who the head coach is. him going to coach csu is very questionable and doesn't automatically make csu some great destination. fort collins is the complete opposite of the east coast. how does one even go about recruiting to a place like that? I will say, an office with large windows overlooking the stadium is nice

conclusion: csu sucks

Coach Sammis should be involved with all of the recruits at this point too, I would think. Somebody should be until the permanent HC is named

Sammis might be heading to Colorado State with Mora. We won't know which coaches (or players) that will be going with Mora until after the bowl game. Typically a new coach brings in his own staff.

If Mora and Millen love each other so much, how about Millen as the CSU OC and Sammis stays here with a nice big raise!!! Everybody wins.

If Sammis is going with Mora it will be before the bowl game. Also if a new head coach gets hired it will in all likelihood be before the bowl game and players can then enter the portal once the new coach is hired (5 days after being hired).

As much as Mora is a West Coast guy, Sammis is to the East Coast. He's born, raised, and lived most of his life east of the App mountains. I dont see him going that far west for the same position at a worse football situation for probably the same amount of money.
