So is Baylor’s offense just as bad? They only scored 58…and shot close to the same percentage.

Lawson was pretty honest as a television analyst about early SCar contending teams offensive issues, but Dawn's teams certainly scored more consistently than Lawson's have.

Pretty disappointing start for Duke but I expect they'll have it together by Vegas.

She is starting to shake the rust off... She definitely will be a key part of the team

Roberson and Skinner made their season debuts last night

As I said to another friend last night, I have yet to see Skinner play, but this statement from Coach Lawson says something to me about her potential.

.-.
In her 13 mins last night you could see it. A little rusty as expected…but she sees the game differently for sure.
Like others have noted, PG play has been a missing piece for Coach Lawson's squad. Looking forward to seeing her play during the season.

12 points 6 rebounds 2 steals and 3 blocks in 12 minutes. I know it was against Norfolk State, but she is gonna make us a lot better going forward.

WVU has been tough at home the last few years. Could be an interesting game

The game is in WV, but it's being played in a ballroom at the Greenbriar Resort

An all around ugly game! I see duke once again showing how great their offense is

WV is really about to beat Duke, with only 5 eligible players?!

Dog Stink GIF

Shocking loss by Duke! Played poorly, give a ton of credit to the five WV players who were available in the 2nd half after six players were ejected at the end of the first half shoving incident. Duke probably drops out of the top 25 as a result.

I wouldn't blame @triaddukefan if he needs to take a week off from basketball. I hear darts is fun.
Darts is fun! I would rather play darts than watch Duke stink up the place. Really Kara?? With all that talent and this is what you do against five players? SMDH and I don’t like anything about Duke sports.

Wow! Duke players and Coach Lawson should be embarrassed by this loss to West Virginia. I can only imagine how practice and meetings will go from here on out.

If my memory is correct, Duke tends to have slow starts. Hopefully this is just one of those seasons...
So true. This loss has to spark them, hopefully. Coach Lawson is too good of a coach, teacher, motivational speaker, and competitor to let this slide. I am sure this will light a fire out of the players and coaching staff. To get out played by five players. This has to spark the Duke WBB program the rest of the season. I wish that I was a fly on the wall at the next practice and meeting.

Duke looked pretty bad for the entire game. The offensive problems are real. It almost looks like they have no coherent halfcourt offense. And if they can’t get an easy bucket off their press, they don’t know what to do. In this game, they ran up against another pressing team, perhaps even more aggressively so than they are, and it exacerbated their offensive woes.

If it were me — don’t worry it isn’t — I’d keep Jordan Wood on the bench for a big chunk of the season. I mean, taunting someone at mid-court. Seriously? I suspect there was a lot of extra stuff leading up to that moment. But still… And what is going on with their ability to make layups, or even midrange jumpers? Even Fournier, whose entire reason for making a top-25 team in the first place is her post play, seemed flummoxed when she had the ball. This was a far cry from the dominant player I remember coming out of high school.

And kudos to Mark Kellog for creating a competitive team out of spare parts. I mean, other than failing to teach them the importance of bench discipline. But despite that obvious lapse, which cost him most of his starters for the second half, they still outscored Duke. And what a happy surprise Celia Rivière turns out to be. A big, slow-footed kid from France outplayed all of Duke’s bigs for an entire half. I have to guess that she’ll get a lot more minutes going forward.

The only bright spot I can see for Duke is the return of Arianna Roberson. She looked composed and under control throughout. If her knee is up to it, I suspect Fournier will be coming off the bench for awhile.

Fournier must have missed 10 layups in a 40 second span at the end of the game

Maybe. But this was not a loss due to lethargy. Duke was just bad. Bad execution, bad decisions, bad shots. That’s a lot to fix. Especially for some of the intellectually smartest players in D1.
