2024 UConn Summer/Fall Camp

We have a new offense. New playbook. New OC. All the WR are new. We have had 10 practices where the team is ALL together.

Maybe take a deep breath.

And how many times over the past decade has someone mentioned this just to see similar on field results?

Yep, as I mentioned in the other thread regarding the open scrimmage and coaches meet & greet. They had numerous sets with 4 & 5 wide outs on Saturday. Something I haven't seen in years from any of Uconn's OC's. (Mora said he'll need 8 or 9 WR's for the offense) Along with not recalling one Rhino sets (1 WR). Which was a big playbook "go to" for Charlton.

Also the OL's 1's on Saturday seemed to be short guys because some players were being held out, according to Mora, for minor stuff. The O started the 2 mainstay OT's ( Lundt and Senn), RS FR Wayburn/Jurgens at OG's and Fortin at center. Also it looked like 2 of the top WR's were also out IIRC, Buckman and Sheffield. So still alot of pieces to put together and work in with each other.

Are they doing this for every QB? It would be odd to spend that much time profiling a backup QB.
It's probably Evers until it isn't. Hopefully whatever he's recovering from is just a nick or two. You're going to hermetically seal this guy if necessary to protect him.

Stated last week somewhere it was a groin issue. Looked like a groin issue on Saturday. Might be ankle too?

If you think about it he hasn’t actually played football in almost 3 years

One of my first impressions on those highlights, and others the team has made public over the last week, is coach is purposefully keeping everyone guessing on the starting QB situation, including MD. All have different strengths and weaknesses, some known and others not so much, requiring planning by MD. Curious what we'll see or hear highlight-wise over the next two weeks.
