^ all we need.
But the staff's prioritizing him....
Immediately after Tristen committed, Jahmir Young that ended up at Maryland cancelled his visit. Same spot.Ummmm.... a bit of a reminder for you:
In his last year at Rutgers, Cam averaged 13.2 / 3.1 / 3.8 and shot 43% on three's
In his last year at ECU, Tristen averaged 17.7 / 5.0 / 4.8 and was 2nd team All-AAC
Shoutout to Coach Barrette at BCHS!By the time they played in the PKI, sixth game of Donovan's freshman year, Bill Walton was raving about Clingan and how well he'd been coached in high school.
Actually, how it works is that both the coaches and the portal kid have an idea of how the kid fits into the pecking order of the roster and if the expectation is that the kid should start, that is said. The word is expectation and not guarantee. Practices determine who starts and who gets minutes on winning ball clubs.Lol. UConn would not have gotten commitments from Newton & Spencer without guaranteeing them a starting job, that’s how this work man. And yes, they were absolutely coveted recruits, what are you even talking about?. And RJ Cole? Let’s not forget he had an official visit lined up to Alabama before he committed, Nate Oats wanted him.
With all the extra energy if you run out of yard I have extraHave the day off. Now will go out back to do yard work with added rake energy.

Clingan's tourney performance in Maui last year, even caused Walton to compare Clingan's game to his own game. Are you serious? It was extremely clear in his first 10 minutes of playing time that he was already very good.
you mean in the PK80 tournament in Oregon. For this upcoming 2024-2025 season, UConn will be in Maui.Clingan's tourney performance in Maui last year, even caused Walton to compare Clingan's game to his own game.
Walton heaped continued praise on DC during those games.
Reed the Legend played in the Garden with pain:I'm late to this thread, wondering if others have already mentioned that Reed has experience winning in Madison Square Garden, over Pitino's Red Storm no less .
Hard to demonstrate his offensive moves (he had good good footwork moves like Sanogo and could shoot with either hand including hooks ) when you are being doubled and triple teamed. He was much maligned for not having gone to a prep school and yet had better moves than any incoming center to Uconn that I have seen with the possible exception of Sanogo. We don't know how he will fit in at the next level as presumably he will be expected to work on an outside shot of some kind. We can only speculate on that.He was a stalwart on d and on the glass. He definitely needed (and still needs) to refine his offensive game outside of catching lobs and dump offs, ImO.
Exactly, there are never guarantees. Thats ridiculous.Actually, how it works is that both the coaches and the portal kid have an idea of how the kid fits into the pecking order of the roster and if the expectation is that the kid should start, that is said. The word is expectation and not guarantee. Practices determine who starts and who gets minutes on winning ball clubs.

Samson and Tarris Reed aren’t the same type of player lol. Reed is a physical bruising type of player. Both are 6’10 but johnson is listed at 225 while Reed 265Thats what Samson brings when he comes in and does his change of pace
Thank you.you mean in the PK80 tournament in Oregon. For this upcoming 2024-2025 season, UConn will be in Maui.
He's been consistently wrong on UConn lately.
I was just busting with the wink reference. Sorry if I jumped too soon. Come on down Terris Reed, play for the back-to-back National Champions, be a part of the triple crown. It's not a wink! I have zero inside info here, and I don't think he's committed yet.
But the staff's prioritizing him, our last two centers have gone/will be going to the NBA, we develop players and win titles.
I can't imagine this kid's not on the roster next year.
I could be absolutely wrong but im guessing he wasnt in great shape as a freshmen but watching some tape on him he seems very, very talented and just needs to get in a bit better shape, discipline and hard coaching and he can be an absolute diamond in the rough. He looks like a slightly larger more athletic version of Sanogo. Someone said hes a below the rim player but i dont think so. I seen a play where he spun on his defender and i was expecting him to jump toward the basket for the lay in and he went up and dunked it. Very impressive play and i think this kid is scratching the surface of what he could be. Get him down to 250-255ish and watch out. I hope we can get him because ill take two years of that.Gotta look beyond his stats. Watch the tape. Quick, Big frame, Great footwork, quick twitch, good passer, 2 yrs eligibility. He tries to play like Karl Malone. Looks like him physically. Will be great both sides with pick and roll. Someone said in other thread Jeff Adrien-ish
$750k for Mack????!!!!

Those guys are also seniors so they need more minutes to showcase themselves, so they think. Reed has got two years left. Our guys improve dramatically after year one.If that's the case, then it sounds like some of the other bigs in the portal like Ballo and Cliff, might not buy into this narrative and choose a destination where they will be assured 30 plus minutes per game.
Let's get a center the staff wants, and another top guard or wing, and we should be good to go.
He and Samson are going to make another great center tandem.I could be absolutely wrong but im guessing he wasnt in great shape as a freshmen but watching some tape on him he seems very, very talented and just needs to get in a bit better shape, discipline and hard coaching and he can be an absolute diamond in the rough. Worth it!$750k for Mack????!!!!
Reed having 2 years of eligibility is the key. One year with Reed and Johnson splitting time and a more developed Reed and Singare combo down the road doesn't seem too shabby. Although, given the portal and recruiting it is hard to project much beyond next month.,Those guys are also seniors so they need more minutes to showcase themselves, so they think. Reed has got two years left. Our guys improve dramatically after year one.
