Summary of the most popular teams/players by state during 2024. Pretty entertaining looking over the maps (though seeing Caitlin Clark sweep the U.S. AND Canada and Bueckers couldn't even win CT is a bit of a bummer). Also interesting seeing where the UConn men were #1 besides the NE.

UConn wins the number of states (12), range (coast to coast, Gulf of Mexico to Canada), and population (California, Texas, Florida, New York, Penn, CT, etc). We don't need to be in a P4 conference because we are P1!

Although, I would join the B1G, XII, ACC, or SEC if they want us.

We win the electoral vote too (plurality anyways), being #1 in electoral vote hauls of CA, TX, FL, NY (suck it 'cuse), and PA!

Also, UConn men the ruler of Canada!
I feel kind of bad for the University of Southern Canada Orangemen. They don’t even own their own country. Apparently, it really is the Great American Flag Blue and White North.

I was not expecting to see Pete Maravich on 8 states. I’m thinking the younger generation has heard about his exploits and has been searching his game and for videos of him.

He definitely was a human highlight reel with unbelievable talent.

Dakota del Notre representing Amigos!!

We have the 4 most populous states and the entire Megalopolis except for Maryland.

And this map isn't totally out to lunch either -- most states are occupied by their highest-profile team.

The preference for UK in Georgia and Virginia is interesting. My guess is that the UK alum bases in DC and Atlanta must be driving that.

Thanks for opening this thread and showing this map. You should give this to AD Dave Benedict for him to pitch to the Big 12 or else I will :). Yes, football is the 80 in the 80-20 rule in conference realignment, but UConn's basketball brand is not only a very successful blue blood, but it has some mass appeal in the country.
As long as UConn can continue to build and improve their football (more NIL for better players), the front door to a P4 invite will eventually open. This starts with the Fenway Bowl. A good large and loud contingent of UConn fans at Fenway along with a win over North Carolina will go a long way toward helping UConn's P4 aspirations especially with the game on regular ESPN. We all know it won't seal the deal, but it would help.

Isn't it 5? CA,NY,TX,FL,PA. IL is 6th.
Need to keep this going, play home and homes with top teams where we want to be, build our brand in places that matter.

Single handedly holding it down out here in the barren winter wasteland. Your welcome.

In all seriousness, there's 3 of us just at my office alone. A 90s grad, a 2000s grad and a 2010s grad. The rest of the state only watches hockey or the Vikings, easy to standout.
Are you in ND? Im currently in Mexico but i have a house in Fargo which i will likely return to some day.
