2024 Coaching Carousel gets an early start…

Leaving a P4 head coaching job to become an assistant….
Chip Kelly did the same thing last year. Being a head coach isn't what it used to be..I don't blame these coaches to move to a less pressure, less demanding job like a big time, well paying, program OC or DC

Wasn’t Kelly on the cusp of getting fired?

I'm surprised we don't see names from SDSU and NDSU or Montana St coming up as candidates for some of these schools. Consistent top 5 last years

Are the coaches of Wyoming and Kansas from NDSU?

I don't think so but my memory isn't great and I don't follow anything related to UCLA (I believe that's where he was).

Wyoming's previous head coach through last year (Craig Kohl) was from North Dakota State, the current guy was Bohl's Defensive Coordinator. Not Kansas, but Kansas State's current head coach (Chris Kliemen) is from North Dakota State, the guy who replaced Kliemen is Assistant Head Coach at USC). The current NDSU coach was the OC for Kohl at Wyoming

Is that a good move for Keeler though? The AD just said they were going to “review” the future of the program.
Temple realizes that even bad football is better than no football:

Keeler is 65y/o - he’ll just pad the retirement account:

40-24 and gets fired. High expectations.
“Clark went 40-24 in five seasons, including a 19-7 record in his first two full seasons after taking over for the departing Eliah Drinkwitz. But Clark went 20-17 over the last three years and never won the Sun Belt during his tenure. The Mountaineers also missed a bowl game in two of the past three seasons. Their 5-6 record in 2024 was their first losing season since going 4-8 in 2013, their final season at the Football Championship Subdivision level.”

So he was trending in the wrong direction. In that case, I commend the school for doing now, what will have to be done eventually anyway.

He's 65 and he's a PA guy... Solid move for him
He should do fine. He wins. And I’m sure he will be glad to back in northeast.

But he seems to have a cloud around him. His Alma mater showed him the door and then slammed it in his face saying never come back. And that was a few years after a natty.
