2024-2025 Injuries

Good thing they landed Van Slooten from the transfer portal and Coach Fralick seems keen on Sotelo per the press conference. Michigan State didn't have a lot height when they lost Alexander and Meng last season.

This unfortunate for Poole. Was looking forward to how she would fare with this fresh start at Houston.

What was seen off the court before/during ND's exhibition game with Davenport may have caught some Irish eyes more than what transpired on:
  • Sonia Citron still in a walking boot for "precautionary" purposes;
  • Liza Karlen, who started the game as center, joined her after suffering some kind of lower leg (ankle? foot?) injury in the second quarter;
  • Emma Risch in street clothes for precautionary purposes for soreness.
  • Maddy Westbeld was out and will be until until the ACC Part of the schedule while recuperating from foot surgery.
  • Kyle Watson is now being called out indefinitely, which should come as no surprise considering she suffered an ACL injury late in the season in 2024.

ND was down to 7 players and that's the exhibition. Let's hope the precaution lead to activity on Monday, but I need a little bit of "show me" now. Ugh. :confused:

Us Uconn fans know all too well about this

Seeing Leger-Walker listed is confusing. Thought it was assumed she won't be available to play for a while.

So many ACL injuries. Makes me wonder if the court surface and shoes are too "sticky."
There have been many discussions in previous threads that talk about the issue. There's more to ACL injuries than the court and shoes (physiology, genetics of athletes, movement mechanics, etc.). To focus on those factors alone is superficial.

Tuned into the Michigan-Eastern Michigan game replay to watch ex-Duck Grace Van Slooten. But she was held out. Any info on this from Spartan fans (or anybody)?

Thought I saw somewhere on social media she was held out due to illness, but not 100% sure.

Some good news: Liatu King, who was clunked in the head during the James Madison game (and missed the Lafayette match) looks like she'll be back in time for the USC match. Very important for ND to play against USC's taller guards and wings.
