2024-2025 Injuries

And so it begins

Ugh, but I wonder whether this was something they discovered before the summer sessions start. Yes it sucks, but on the other hand, dealing with it now versus something happening late in the season could be best long term.

Very reminiscent of the beginning of Jana El Alfy's career at UConn. Wishing them both the best.

The down side of FIBA competition. UConn fans can relate, I'm sure. I don't recommend turning the sound on for this one.

Yikes. I was just thinking she's been playing pretty well in the tournament and uk should be posting highlights

Darn it. Of course we don't know anything about the injury yet, but that doesn't look good.

While the injury is unfortunate, pointing the finger at FIBA competitions isn't entirely fair. I get fans fear the worst, but as UConn fans have also seen, injuries can happen anywhere.

Until the news comes out confirming either way, let's hope for the best Hoping the injury isn't as bad as feared.

Has there been any sortve update on this injury

No disrespect intended to the poster who created this thread (and I agree it is helpful to have the list of WBB injuries in one place), but I just hated to open and read it. :-(

Best wishes for speedy recoveries to all players who are listed here or who will be listed here.

Believe that's the sentiment for anyone who reviews this thread.

Brutal luck for Kenny's first season at Kentucky. Both players were expected to be solid contributors.

Mississippi State freshman T Bloom injured her knee and will miss the season. Prays to her and all injured players on a full and speedy recovery. I am sad to see injuries to any of these kids.

Ugh......I share your sentiments on all fronts.

Bad news, reality, good news.

Bad:
  • Feel for KK who, if what she wrote is spot-on, has been playing in discomfort for two years.
  • ND has some phenom starters at guard/wing, but now is officially short at backing them up.

Reality
- Cass Prosper and Emma Risch are getting playing time and fast. Prosper is the more athletic, run the floor type while Risch is a sniper. Both are tall and have long arms.

Good New
  • With a medical redshirt, KK will have a chance to come back full-bore for two years, working with Hannah Hidalgo, Risch and Prosper.
  • ND has no commitments from guards for the 2025 class as of this moment, so this is also an unwanted insurance policy, as well. (Let's hope Deniya Prawl decides to join fellow Canadian Cass Prosper in Indiana.)

Best of luck KK. Come back strong.

I was really excited to see what KK could do this season. She looked to be in great shape. I wish her well, and a speedy recovery.

Ugh. As an Irish fan, I really wish Nielle would recruit at least 12 players. 12-15. A lot of elite programs recruit that many. The Irish were supposed to be "deep" this season, but now 10 dwindles to 8. Plus Kate Koval was in a boot in one of the teams picture last week. No clue what that's about. Ugh.
