Loving these SFA offers. I never understood why the old regime didn't recruit SFA more considering they played against STM at trinity couple yrs ago.

Mora has really stepped it up with the quality of players being offered. I'll be curious to see how many offers get made to ensure they are able to fill out the class. And it seems (maybe not, but it feels) like there are many more offers on the table at this time in the year as compared to others.

In 2019 there were 143 know offers. In 2020, there were a total of 156 known offers made. In 2021 there were a total of 154 known offers out all said and done. The class of 2023 is @ 126 w/ almost a year to go to their last NLI Signing Day.

There is some impact due to coaching change w/ old/new offers and also the introduction of the transfer portal - but having tracked this for a number of years the offers are flowing more freely w/ the Mora crew.

I definitely think some of the guys with offers from the majority of the P5 are as much a toe in the door for a potential transfer portal appearance down the line as they are a legitimate offer for next year. It's a good move.. Edsall wouldn't have bothered... but there really is no risk, if they accept, well great; but if the P5 stop doesn't work out, then at least there is a relationship already in the place when they hit the portal.

Even starting late, you can tell that our staff is going to give far more offers to players who will be wanted by everyone than other staffs have. There is no harm in that, and if we want to do it for either PR or to know the players when they enter the portal later, that’s fine and there is no harm. However, actual recruiting — official visits, but also using the time for in home visits — is not an unlimited resource. So the key will be whether the new regime can offer tons of young men they will never get, but still focus the actual resources on players that they have a chance to get.

Neither a criticism nor a compliment. Just an observation.
