2023 NBA Draft Thread

Vecenie on his live show saying that Whitmore's medicals may have flagged for some teams. Yellow flags not red flags, but there's something.

Wouldn’t mind Miami for Hawkins. He’d be a great replacement for Duncan if they decide to move him.

Would love to see him a part of Heat culture.

And if he's talking about it, it's a legit concern for teams

Very cool to see them talking about the ways guys have been using their NIL money for good purposes on the broadcast. A lot better than the trauma that happens in years past.

They need a rim protector. Plus, he seems like an absolutely tremendous kid.
Yeah he is a nice story but he could of been had if they dropped even further. Most people had him in 20-30 range and he doesn't have any offensive game. I understand the fit with Dallas but still think it is a reach.

Celtics should move up and grab Hawk. I'd give up next year's 1-pick to get him. Hawk, Tatum and Brown would make a dynamic backcourt and wings.

That's fair, but I am not sure there are a to of teams willing to trade up at this point.

I'm on the ESPN page and already I don't even know several of the logos of the teams, and they don't list the name of the teams on the Draft cast so I don't know what is happening. Why did they change all these logos?

EDIT: Pelicans, Orlando, Toronto and Wizards gave me trouble.

I heard why Whitmore fell by why has Grady Dick fallen to 13th?
Jett Howard apparently showed Orlando something to put him above Dick and Hawkins. That and Dallas traded down and took Lively. They had a lot of holes to fill.

No they didn't, he was a late lottery pick to the late teens in nearly every single mock draft

Gradey Dick going to Toronto means that Jordan Hawkins is the best shooter left on the board. Next few teams picking and their ranking last year in 3PM/game:
  • Pelicans - 23
  • Hawks - 26
  • Jazz - 7
  • Lakers - 24
  • Heat - 19
Feels like a really good pick for any of those teams

Hawks really need a shooter to go along the 2 PGs they have in Trae and Murrary. Hopefully they do that and not a combo guard that draft predictions have had. That Boston series showed the need for another shooter.
