I would love for the decision to hold back to cost them big time. An LIU win, burning their one good starter. Then either Wake or UMD would be gone. Two games to win one, and AP would get one of those. Dream scenario.
Came across this catching up on the thread. AP won’t pitch again this regional. Would be irresponsible to throw him again on Monday on two days of rest after throwing 109 pitches.

Bottom 2nd, Morton with a leadoff single, advances to 2B on a ground out for the first out. Padilla singles to put runners on the corners with 1 out. A double play ends the inning with no runs coming in. 2-0 UConn.

Would have been nice to get another run or two, but their ace has 44 pitches through 2 innings. Need to keep working the count.

Why is not WHUS broadcasting the game?
WHUS has not carried any UConn baseball games this season. The sports department at WHUS seems to be in a shambles, they did very few games in any sport this school year. Some of this is no doubt also due to the Covid pandemic as well. I'm disappointed as well, considering all the games in many sports that I used to listen to on WHUS.

… but Chris Jones on Mixlr has carried every game. uconnbsb on Mixlr

I saw Chris Jones prior to the start of the season at a preseason practice. He told me that he had hoped to get some games on WHUS, but as time wore on prior to the beginning of the season he realized it probably wasn't going to happen due the poor state of the WHUS sports department. Guessing at some point he probably just gave up on WHUS for this season.

I'm hoping they start carrying more games of all types again next school year, but we'll see. Overall, I'm inclined to think that WHUS overall is not the station it used to be in many different areas, it is not just a sports department problem.

Bottom 3rd, UConn offense with a scoreless inning. 2-1 UConn.

Top 4th, Gallagher faces the minimum with the aide of a double play. 2-1 UConn. Second double play of the game for the Huskies. Remember at the beginning of the season UConn had a lot of trouble turning double plays, this has been a dramatic change for the better as the infield defense is much improved.

Gallagher at 43 pitches.

Giving up 1 run on the road through 4 innings is all you can ask for vs this team. Have to rediscover our offense here.

One other thing, I thought the WHUS sports department was in a steady decline prior to the start of the pandemic. Obviously the pandemic has not helped out matters at all as well.
