This guy gets his outs with his fastball. Penders has spoken many times about how Ferrer is one of the best pure fastball hitters on the team. Didn't work out there, but this is baseball after all.

Wasn't questioning it because of the result, just curious as to why.

The ironic thing is that Maryland hasn't thrown a lot of fastballs and most that they have thrown have been intentionally out of the strike zone.

Kirby to me is one of those guys who seems quite capable of going multiple innings. He's doing the job, I say ride him for now.
