2022 Recruiting Class

I am getting confused by the existing Non-UConn Recruiting thread that contains 2021 and 2022 recruits/ Prospects Therefore, I am starting this thread for discussions of 2022 prospects ONLY.

PLEASE DO NOT QUOTE THIS POST. I intend to Edit this post as things develop (or as y'all point out mistakes). As I understand, I cannot edit if anybody quotes it.

Below is an All Too Early list of the prospects that are most highly rated by the recruiting service. I started with the Top 44 of all rankings and calculated the average ranking of each recruit based upon four services that presently have rankings. For those prospects that have been ranked by at least three of the services, I have calculated their average rankings (Prospect Nation has not yet ranked the prospects but lists them with star ratings. I have shown those ratings but not included them in ). Below that, I have listed players who have Top 44 rankings by at least 2 of the 4 services. I did not calculated their average rank.

Why 44? Because that's all Blue Star has ranked

Well if she wants academics, the other schools you listed are better, and for basketball...BC is just about at the bottom of the list of her finalists.

It will be interesting how Lawson does this season with the Blue Devils. Duke would be a great landing spot for high caliber players that want good academics. Will be an interesting thing to keep an eye on this season. I think her 2022 haul will be great.

No, it wasn't new when posted, but it was info I had not included when I compiled the first post. Thus, it was very helpful to me when stoli sent it to me. I didn't have to go back and look for it.

It helps me a LOT when y'all feed me info. I have much more to do like compiling the purported offers for all of these prospects to the first post, Thus, every shortcut is helpful.

For example, it would help me if you UConn fans could let me know when UConn makes a purported offer. I say "purported" because nobody really knows if they are true, firm offers or not except the coaches - who can't talk about it.

Those are the players who are true "consensus stars" - ranked top 44 by all 4 services that have rankings. Unembolded prospects have only been ranked top 44 by 3 out of four.

I understand. 2021 is about done. The other thread can now be about next (2022, 2023) recruiting classes. It's cleaner; it just includes news. We may need to break it down by month as the mods tend not to like really long threads.

The listings on the first post are for players. On that page a bold print name means that they have been ranked in the Top 44 by all four polls that are used in calculating their average rank. Thus, Ayanna Patterson's name is bold on that post.

The second big post is a listing of top programs and the prospects they have purportedly offered. On that post, bold prient has a different meaning. It means that a prospect has announced that school as a finalist. Ayanna Patterson has not announced any finalists among her 50+ offers. Therefore, her name is not emboldened in the Notre Dame list (or any others).

Also, I don't list "give and take." I only list purported offers. What is a purported offer? First, keep in mind that coaches/schools are not allowed to discuss a recruit. Thus, we never know officially if a school has offered. Second, I use recruiting related websites that report offers based upon what the prospects have told the website. One such site is wbbblog. They list 50 plus offer to Ayanna Patterson who appears to feed them. They really report nothing for Janiah Barker of Timea Gardiner. This indicates that those two very high profile prospects are not revealing their offers to the public.

I distrust so-called insiders on homerboards because I have seen them proven wrong many times. I'm not going to school homerboards to search for info on offers. Nevertheless, I will add offers in the two texts above if posters on this board are confidant that their coaches are working a prospect hard and believe that an offer has been made.

I would imagine that every coach in the country has had "offer conversations" with Barker and Gardiner - as they have with Ayanna Patterson.
