Ole Miss might’ve done decently well in this NCAA tourney but UNC is in position to be a Top 10 team next year imo and she was a starter on that team
It’s evident players still transfers despite being on a top team. There are definitely internal reasons why she may want a change.

Coach Yo has a huge personality. Her energy is unmatched, she’s relatable and so down to earth and that bodes well with recruiting.Todd-Williams is a really good defensive player. She probably liked what she saw and how they played defense in the tournament.

True but I feel like it’s still pretty rare for multi-year starters on top teams to transfer (unless you’re Maryland)

So, which schools have the most players entering the transfer portal so far? Iowa State, Auburn, Arizona, and Boston College come to mind.

Walz on a radio show this morning said he was looking to sign 4-5 from the portal, ideally w/ 2-3 years of eligibility.
Sounds like he’s not very confident about the offers he has out for the ‘24 and ‘25 classes if he’s looking for that much eligibility.

Only seven players on the roster right now so he needs four or five.
Does that seven include those for sure who are staying put? Most teams lose someone to the portal every offseason, including Louisville.

I believe PG Jayda Curry from Berkeley was visiting UofL the last couple of days. She played two seasons at Cal.

Louisville lost two to the portal on "Portal Monday" - freshmen Zyanna Walker and Jalyn Brown

Very interesting. It seems Walz likes having 2 small guards who can handle the ball and shoot the 3. And somehow they are still always good defensively. Anyways I like the hypothetical fit.

What was the situation with them? Did they not anticipate being able to break into the rotation next season?

I wonder if that number count includes Ga. Tech's Eylia Love, who has committed to Louisville already.
That's a lot of new players, but -- if memory serves -- he has 0 (zero) players coming in via the "traditional" high school route.
If he wants players who can give him three years, those would be freshmen, because sophomores don't get a covid exemption.

Well, if he wants a family plan, he could call the Reynolds clan in South Bend (on the other hand, he could get a reference check by his former employer, Brenda Freese, from Maryland). Always interesting. Stay tuned.

Apparently Jeff's pipeline to grammar school kids went dry.

Love is included in the seven. No 2023 recruits. He said in a recent presser that he swung for a couple home runs this year and struck out. Assume he's referring to Kitts and El Alfy.

Thanks for information. In the "old days," you might go to Plan B and pick-up some double- or triple-hitters (it's Opening Day and I couldn't resist the metaphor), but now you can just move on over to the Portal. Wonder in what direction he'll go (report on The Bench that Jayda Curry is visiting: Chrislyn Carr, West Coast version?)
