Few things shock me anymore in sports, but a couple things really did surprise me about the ND game.

First, how hard they hit Caspirius. That was a little unnerving. But the fact that they stayed that hot throughout the game was unexpected. I've coached and watched a lot of baseball in 60-something years, and that was the hottest hitting team in a single game I may have ever seen. Some unnecessary overkill, including stealing in late innings, etc., but that was piping hot hitting for 9 innings.

But equally surprising was how little offense we created throughout the game and that was disappointing. Maybe they were shellshocked? But I am also confident they can recover today. It is one game and ND won't top -- nor match -- its effort yesterday. That at least is my hope.

This is not the impossible task. Challenging sure, but winning two today is well within the cards. Go Huskiesl
