OT: 2021 Open Championship

Koepka finished -8 but was a collective 1” of distance on putts from being -12. Would have been great for putting huge pressure on Morikawa & Louis for the last 14 holes.

Louis going full Louis with the choke. So far. Can't get a putt to reach the cup.

Morikawa looking smooth. So far. Don't see him letting moment get bigger than him.

At this point it's almost down to Spieth and Colin.

Has Morikawa won a major? I stepped away for 12 minutes and suddenly Louis was tied at -10. Didn’t see what happened.

Man if Morikawa wins this and goes and wins gold at the Olympics, that would be a pretty sweet 2 weeks of golf.

Morikawa won the PGA last year at Harding Park. His game translates so well for the majors.

just so precise with his approaches. He may be left/right of the pin by a few yards here & there, but distance always seems to be +/- 1-2 yard of where he wants to put it. Like a machine.

Morikawa is getting a wow from me.

No retreat. No bogeys.

About as boring a venue as ive ever seen. No wind. Almost zero fescue in play. No noteworthy bunkers. No memorable holes. There was very little real trouble. Nothing to really make the leaders sweat or guys really scramble for par. Spieth making a run made it interesting but this was a really boring major otherwise.

The only LInks course I can think of that is challenging when the wind does not blow is probably Carnasti.

Rahm had several looks inside 12' on front 9.

IDK if he could have gotten to -15, but -14 was definitely a number he could have posted to give Morikawa something to think about.

A great round by Morikowa! I for one enjoyed the tournament.

Lot's of golf left this year: Olympics, FedEx Cup and Ryder Cup! Tee it up!

Tell Louis there weren't any noteworthy bunkers.

Lack of wind takes many of the bunkers out of play because the Ayers can control spin better.

It's not the greatest course but this its 15th time hosting.

It will continue to host going forward.

I like it because it's where the sandwich was invented and the sky views and water views of the Cliffs of Dover are fantastic.
