OT: 2021 NBA Playoffs

This will get doc fired off they lose the series
Doc Rivers is a loser with a loser character
Losing this game at home is unreal- and seth curry of all players puts up 36

Post game TNT analysis was spot on. Barkley pointed out that Giannis dropped the ball b/c he was rushing to avoid getting fouled. This was after Kenny arguing the difference in the game was Durant could close at the line & by making shots whereas the Bucks needed the ball in someone other than Giannis' hands. More than anything else that's the Bucks fatal flaw, in close games their best player can't reliably create crunch time buckets and now is unreliable at the stripe.

I think the series goes 7, but if either of the next two games are one possession in the final minute its an uphill battle for the Bucks.

didn’t they get Holiday for end of game situations? Where has he been?? Giannis taking baseline fadeaways while being guarded by a guy with one leg who can’t run was just beyond ridiculous. Middleton isn’t exactly a great one on one guy either. They brought Holiday in to be that guy and he hasn’t exactly been moving the needle for them this postseason. Overall and especially at the end of games.

Goes without saying but they need a new coach. Bud makes zero adjustments. Their style/ strategy never changes and is completely independent of who their opponent is. It’s inexcusable at this point.

Simmons took 4 shots lol. Sixers and Bucks have similar issues. Sixers have Embiid who is unstoppable but it’s tough when you’re go to guy isn’t a ball handler. Bucks apparently still don’t have one since Holiday hasn’t been that. So neither team has a ball handler to count on to go to and the end of games and that’s a huge issue (obviously).

Simmons somehow still has no scoring ability at all. He literally can’t/ won’t take a jump shot. He’s been an elite player through high school, college and now 4 years in the nba and you can’t score at all? 6’10. Handles like a guard. Really quick and athletic. And you have no offensive game at all? No post game either? It’s ridiculous at this point.

I have no idea about salaries, capspace, picks etc but 76ers should make a godfather offer with Simmons for Lillard if it’s at all doable. Dame and embiid would be ridiculous and Dame is 31 (crazy) and Portland is going nowhere. Simmons would give them a young foundational (ish) piece who fits well with Their roster and would improve their defense a ton which has been terrible for years. Sixers could still win the series (and title) obviously but seems like the Simmons and embiid combo is destined to disappoint.

Love to see that game from PG. Dude gets lots of undue hate imo. He's for sure clowned himself and had some duds in the playoffs, but think hes much better than most fans give him credit for.

Reggie Jackson was the best player on the court for the 4Q. From either team.

Sometimes confidence IS all you need.

Carlisle is out, I say its time. Pacers and Celtics are a possibility as he has some familiarity there.

Probably got sick of listening to Doncic. And that won't get any better so he got out while the getting is good.

dear god Brad should have already had an hour phone call with him lol

Can't believe the way the Bucks are playing Harden on both offense and defense, Coach Bud has some kind of "delay" going on upstairs.

Harden still can't really run but he looks a million times better than the other night.

What does Milwaukee have to do for him to keep his job? Does he stay if they make the Finals at least?

Tbh even if they made the Finals and lost playing stupid basketball I would still can him
That’s kinda what I figure. Hard to picture a coach getting fired after a Finals berth, but it’s been the last 3 ugly years and his specific coaching that hasn’t been great.

I don't see how the Bucks can keep Budenholzer in the job even if they make the Finals. The Bucks play like idiots on both ends of the court, and have wasted a 3 year stretch where they probably had the most talented team in basketball. Middleton's run-the-clock-down pullup bombs are essentially turnovers, but he is an amazing offensive weapon when he shoots off the catch. Holiday is very good on both ends, but why was he defending Durant? Nash was laughing at Bud by going to Durant in the post on 4 straight possessions in the 3rd. Giannis should be checking Durant. I like Tucker, but the Bucks should be playing Forbes more.

Budenholzer is just in over his head in big games. The Bucks basically need to win easily or they lose. That is coaching.

I heard someone on ESPN radio posit a theory that Paul George is better in the alpha role than as the co-star. Who knows?

my ranking based on who is healthy and playing:

1) Bucks - best team, worst coach left
2) Nets - no Kyrie and Harden is at 50%. Harris’ terrible play is a surprise.
3) Jazz - really miss Conley though
4) 76ers - I think they will beat the Hawks, but they are making the Bucks look poised.
5) Suns - assuming Paul can play next round
6) Hawks
7) Clippers

That said, any of the remaining teams could win it all. This playoffs is crazy.

I don’t think it was an “alpha” thing, rather “Kawhi has to be off the ball and Patrick Beverly is a liability and Playoff Rondo is MIA so let’s see if PG can facilitate an offense”

I think it's better to do tiers:

Tier 1:
All the teams remaining.

For all his offensive limitations, I love Capela’s anticipation whenever Trae has that ball. That offensive board then tip pass to Capela was sweet.

How did Embid get called for the foul? Collins had his hand around his neck! And the play before...Trey Young CLEARLY hacked the shooter!

I'm trying to think of the last NBA team who had a starting point guard that had to be taken out of the game during crunch time because they could barely shoot a free throw. Simmons is a hot mess. I just don't see the Sixers winning a championship with him at the point.

I can’t stand Dwight Howard. Even more annoying that he’s got a hot woman baller. What is she thinking he’s such a dork!

Edit: nevermind she realized he’s a goober and broke up with him.
Didn't they get married like ...48 hours ago? lol
