There are only 59 schools that are playing men's ice hockey in Division 1 this season, which is why only 16 teams get into the NCAA Tournament.
I get that, but they should increase it to 20 regardless. And I’m not saying that because we might get left out. It just seems to make sense. Hell, 50% of the NHL makes the playoffs.

Interesting, but I don’t know what it is indicative of. Crowds were actually pretty good when you consider COVID Surge January-midFebruary. Clearly big names draw better than lesser ones. BC, BU PC, UMass. Northeastern came to town when UConn was on a nice streak. I wouldn’t expect them to draw like that. I kind of think 3500 is the right size for the new rink, but that is water under the bridge.

At each of those schools hockey rules, and will always outdraw basketball. We face MBB and WBB competition for fans, so averaging 3,500 per game is not bad. Hopefully the new rink will generate student familiarity/demand, resulting in more of them coming to games in Hartford.

If you want to do a comparison vs other teams. We were 22 in total attendance at 38.5% capacity. (9000) 7th overall in HEA. The NCAA numbers are a bit higher than those above.

Where do we stand as far as the NCAA tournament goes. Are we in or is there further work to be done in the Hockey East Tournament.

OK, thank you. I knew there was work to be done. Huge win for the program last night.

There’s basically no doubt that we need to win it all.

We currently sit at 19 in the pairwise, and it doesn’t appear that a win and a loss will be good enough to flip enough comparisons to get us above 16 where the cut line is 15 and could sit as high as 12.

Everyone still in contention in the NCHC and B1G is in the field no matter what, and no one can get in from Atlantic Hockey except for their tournament winner.

If the ECAC winner isn’t Quinnipiac, if UConn wins Hockey East, or Bemidji State wins the CCHA, that moves the cut line up.

I can't find any combination playing in the Pairwise predictor that gets UConn high enough. Even if they win the tournament it looks like they'd be sitting 16 (with #15 Ohio State getting bumped by the Atlantic champion, since UConn would get the autobid).
