LOL, I will say that the job Father Shanley has done with the campus is simply beyond my ability to comprehend. It was always decent, now it is simply like a beautiful park with nice complimentary buildings. He has raised more money in his tenure than the school had in the previous 90 years combined. Leadership matters.

BTW, in an interesting note, His brother and his design firm came up with the BE name and logo in 1979
Haven't been there in 15 years or so but they must have torn everything down and started over because it wasn't much of a campus back then.

The practice facility is very cool and well thought out though.

Now you just have to airlift the campus someplace else.
there is that, but even the neighborhood is improving. It's blue collar for sure though, like most Catholic schools other than Nova. Let's put it this way, it's certainly not the neighborhood surrounding Trinity.

Is that place Brad's still around?

they sure did, they built a really great Lacrosse/Field hockey facility/field and raised it slightly above ground and used the entire area underneath for parking and then built nice buildings where parking lots used to be and made the whole campus flow. They also spent millions renovating Schneider Arena for the hockey programs.

Here is quick transformation video of the Eaton and Huxley sides of the campus, lots of green space, All the flyover videos I could find are old.

Certainly better but not too impressed, the practice facility is nice though.

Sign me up for anyone with a good ranking named Niels.

Remember when he made like 72 of his first 75 3s his senior year or something crazy like that! Love Giffey!

Beautiful place to hang all your trophies, championship banners & celebrate Kris Dunn as your only lottery pick since any of the kids you’ll be recruiting have been alive.

Exactly, we hung an 8th place one up recently.

Beautiful facility and a testament to the great job the architect did translating what they felt was important into a physical plant that is very attractive and meets their objectives.

But, they have to hope recruits don't ask many questions or ask any in depth questions.

Any of them that give it any thought would have to question the hype throughout the building about: championships; Blaney's comment about "THE final four"; plus the one championship trophy on display. Doesn't say much about results but hey, as Canon says, image is everything, and this image is pretty nice.

We can hardly stay focused on a recruiting thread as is but now we need to get through 25 posts about how PC isn’t ascared of us no more and look at our new sand box.

Needless to say his stock is rising.

Love his game. 6'5 205lb athlete. Can giard 2-4, even the 1 in a pinch. Shoots it well enough, good athlete. Late riser in the rankings. Jersey kid. Has mentioned in a few interviews how he prides himself on defense.
He’s definitely Hurley’s type. Big, athletic, defensive minded guard.

Plan C behind Jackson and Abdur-Rahim?

No. It's a first to commit situation I'd think. Wouldn't be surprised if the staff triednto get 2 of them either

Nobody can match what UConn has in trophy's but then again nobody just lays down and says well we can't compete and and that is what this facility is about.

I see Jackson and JAR as wings and Lane as a guard (like Mané). Lane actually used to play PG but hasn’t been playing that role this spring.

Lane kind of reminds me of a better B Adams. Big, strong, defensive guard with a reputation for shooting it.

I agree but unless he makes big strides in ball handling he will see a lot of time at the 3, especially in a mostly 3 guard system like Hurley runs. He overlaps with Jackson in a lot of ways, could be a plan b.

Definitely possible. But assuming 3 schollies.. 1 has to be a big. Other than that, there's no true positional needs. If I'm Hurley I'm just getting the 2 most talented players available regardless of position. Especially if they have unique skill sets on the wing like JAR, Jackson, and Lane do.

Agree, Chief wants a Big or maybe two. Casual Fans are enthralled by guards but you still need the trench warfare dudes to go deep into the tournament. Yeah, occasionally guards can do it on their own by draining threes, but Chief is about “The Grind” and consistency to take you to “The Big Moment”.
