2020 Recruiting: Adama Sanogo IMPORTANT UPDATE.

Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Nelly! Let's GOOOOOOOOOOOO!

So we’re definitely a top 25 team next year..question is how high? I know people probably tend to forget about us after the past few seasons but this team should be top 15 to start the season. Extremely talented at every single position

Incredibly gutsy of you Chief you go out on a limb right after 4 experts made UConn crystal ball predictions.
Ha ha, not exactly a “profiles in courage“ moment, but who cares?

My God, it would be so good to have a big body like Adama in the post. Yeah yeah yeah, it may be a beautiful day in Storrs and the damn may have burst, but until we get the verbal, I just want to say…

We’re still doomed!

(You can thank me later. )

I thought we were a top 25 team before Martin and whoever fills that last spot (trying not to jinx things here), but most of the pundits had us more in the 30-40 range so who knows.

Conservatively, I think we’d probably be around the 25 spot, give or take a few, after filling the last spot. A lot of the impact pieces are going to be new in one way or another (Cole, Andre, Springs, Martin (if he gets a waiver), potentially Sanogo) so I think most will take a wait-and-see approach on us to start but there’s no denying the upside.

Thanks, Cyril!

Cyril Langevine played for The Patrick School (Same school as Sanogo) and under Hurley at URI.

True story. Always do right by your guys, both because it’s the right thing to do and because it pays off in other ways. Earn trust. Chavannes and Hurley have a lot of respect for each other (long time Jersey connection), which was confirmed in the way this recruitment went. No running to the press, no grasp for clout, just do right by the player. People thought the Delgado angle was going to be key but forgot about another guy.

How come when I go the list of forums I can see that the latest post was in a thread called "Adama Sanogo commits to UConn" but when I click on it, it says the thread cannot be found?

A wild ride to be sure. I couldn’t sleep around 4:30 and logged into the boneyard out of habit and saw this thread. Let’s just say it was impossible to immediately fall back asleep! Still, would have never expected to wake up to the commitment afterwards. Should be a great day!!!!

He committed to UConn - this is a great get for Dan Hurley and staff
Congrats guys and welcome to Adama!!

Instead of celebrating a huge get for the program we resort to piling on
This is the type of player you need in the NBE
Chief00 is Chief00 and you know what - he isn't always wrong and he has been indicating a possible UConn lean for quite a while - I thought the kid was Nebraska bound, myself..........................
I was trying really hard to hedge my feelings so I wouldn't be let down. This was my number one target since watching Josh in the post in the fifth row last year. I can't remember which game (Tulsa?) but I was sitting there watching Sanogo highlights during the breaks on 247.

Remember that time literally everyone said we were going hard for a center this year and then took credit for predicting it would happen?

Good times!

Remember when we used to go games without a single offensive board a few years ago? We now have the best offensive rebounding team in recent memory. Sanogo and Springs were arguably the 2 best offensive rebounders on the circuit last year. Bouknight, Whaley and Martin are outstanding offensive rebounders.

It was pretty obvious we needed a center. if not 20-21 then for sure 21-22 when we loose a bunch of bigs,
