I was at the game at is was ridiculous. It was batting practice for the rollskies. Ferrer hit two out to CF- keep in mind East Catholic field is short out to center 380 max I’m guessing. Christian hit two out over power alley in left center. Kyler ripped two doubles. And Ben Maycock hit one so far up into the trees in center field I am still in shock. Like literally almost put it over 70 foot trees in center field. All of this on a small field but with wood not aluminum bats. Makes you appreciate how good division 1 players are compared to their counterparts in lower levels.

Poor John fedko Ran out of space in his phone recording all the rips the hook c guys were getting.;)

Competition levels are variable but sure seems like the guys are having a good summer (heck... @ least they are playing):

Hmm...John Fedko has really been carrying on about Kevin Ferrer, almost as much as his sons Christian and Kyler. Makes you wonder if John has plans to adopt him.

Mitch Pascarella looks like he has had a nice summer ball season with Worcester. He's pitched in 6 games for a total of 9.2 innings. 3.72 ERA is nothing earth shattering, but in those 9.2 innings he has 14 strikeouts and 3 walks, so he has been getting the strikeouts without giving up a ton of walks. He's also given up 7 hits and 4 runs. He had one bad outing where he gave up 4 hits, 1 walk, and 3 runs in 1.2 innings, so in those other 8 innings he has given up 1 run, 3 hits, and 2 walks, which isn't bad at all.

Casparius gave up his first earned run of the summer season in today's game. 1 run in 5 innings pitched today is certainly nothing to complain about. He also has given up 2 walks and 5 hits in those 12 innings pitched. I'll certainly take that.

This summer with New Britain, Todd Petersen got off to an awful start at the bat, hitting .087 over his first 9 games played. Since then Petersen has played in 13 games, and has hit .291 over that span, bringing his summer season average up to .225. Over these last 13 games, Petersen has had 48 at bats, with 4 doubles and 2 homers. A nice little turnaround for his summer season.

>>TOP PRO PITCHING PROSPECTS
Reggie Crawford, Westfield Starfires, University of Connecticut

Ben Casparius, New Britain Bees, University of Connecticut

The first-ever FCBL Top Pro Prospect honorees from Westfield and New Britain are both hard-throwing UConn Huskies. The left-handed Crawford made five relief appearances for the Starfires, earning three saves while allowing just one run on five hits and striking out 10 over 6.1 innings. Crawford, a native of Frackville, Pa., struck out the side in his NESN-televised outing on Aug. 3 against New Britain. Casparius has impressed in three starts for the Bees over which he threw 12 innings, striking out 18 and allowing just one earned run on five hits. The Westport, Conn., product’s most recent outing on Aug. 9 featured five innings of one-run ball with seven strikeouts against North Shore.<<
