2019 Recruiting Thread

So how much longer until Lundt commits? Every situation is different, but feels like maybe that could come soon as well.

Of the five (really six) dudes on campus last weekend, three have committed and we are waiting on Lundt, Jerrod Means and Aric Horne. Horne has offers from USF, Rutty and a slew of G5 schools not in the AAC.

My gut is that this was orchestrated as much as it could be... UConn has no camp this weekend but still managed to get commits from three kids to keep folks enagaged in the progress.

Next weekend there is two camps (one on Friday and one on Sunday and I’m thinking they will be crowded and the trend will continue.

Yup. And kids tend to want their day of commitment to themselves I think, maybe that’s why we’ve seen three in a row on different days

Pitt had 8 commits this weekend which may have implications for Trent Holler and Bam Brima. Two of the eight commits were on the UConn radar, Bryce Nelms (DE) and Davis Beville (QB).

Of the guys we have offered, it seems realistic and possible that the following dudes would camp with us next weekend:
Of course I'd love for many more dudes to make it and I'm sure there will be some surprises, just reading the tea leaves here as to what seems realistic based on comparable offers, etc.

With the loss of DJ we are sitting at 9th in the league on 247...I'll take it at this point.

Can't find Winston Jules in the 247 database though so that may change the rankings a little.

If we could get a commit from one of Osita Smith, Zay Flowers, and CJ Hanson I'd be a happy camper! More than one and I'd be over the moon.

I was wondering if anyone can share any insight on how coaches deal with these athletes who commit and decommit? It must be a logistical nightmare right? Do the coaches just recruit every single position need continuously whether or not a kid is said to commit until they each sign on the dotted line?

From my limited understanding you don't really count a kid as committed until the signature comes through. That's why you see some surprise commits on NSD.
 
From RI to GA. The biggest recruit in New England heads south.
