I am beginning to get confused. Who is this kid? I guess Hurley's priority is not a big for next season. Unless we have more than one open scholarship for the next year.

This is an interesting one. Named his Final 7 in September 2018 (Delaware, La Salle, Monmouth, Rhode Island, Saint Joseph's, Temple and VCU) then not a peep since.

6'3", 165 PG from Delaware.

4* (#69) on 247.

That's a weird list for a 4* #69 for sure.

Edit - I see he's really a 3* #164....

He’s a 4 star on 247’s ratings but 3 star on composite so different people seeing different things.

I’m still so confused about the staffs plan for 2019. But let’s see how this goes

A great kid who’s overcome a lot. He hurt his knee and missed last summer. More importantly, he hurt his knee jumping out a window to escape a house fire that killed his brother and grandmother. Safe to say basketball understandably wasn’t exactly a priority when dealing with all that. Back-up plan for a guard but an intriguing one.

He had a major tragedy in March 2018. He was in his house when it caught fire. Grandmother and a 10 month old sibling died in the fire. Ge escaped but sustained some injuries.

I know we aren’t supposed to do this but I’m starting to wonder if that other scholarship that supposedly may open up is a guard.

It’s possible the coaching staff has a better handle on the scholarship situation than The Boneyard. That’s not meant to be snarky toward you, by the way. All we can do is trust the staff, I suppose. This kid looks intriguing.

Without a doubt. Maybe our government should learn from our staff on how to not allow leaks to happen.

that, or they just know we need a talent infusion and he's a top available talent.

Borges said the staff is recruiting for two open slots. Based on the offers, visits, and interest we have seen 1 spot is for a big, the other for a guard (wild card Precious which isn't going to happen anyway).

It may be that we are recruiting based on talent more than need, and recruiting for 2020-21 more than 2019-20. I have to admit that I’m very curious how this all pans out.

Big question on him was the competition he was playing against. Put up huge numbers but played for a regular vo-tech public school. Very similar in a lot of ways to Bouknight, 6’3 with the length of someone 6’5/6’6, skinny needs to add some weight, can shoot lights out.

Really sad story and great perseverance from him. He's certainly skinny enough to play for us...

Would be a back-up plan for Cole. Cole obviously has to sit out. With Bones, if they see enough upside in him, they get him for emergency minutes next year but would be looking more to develop that talent in the program, with real playing time coming as a sophomore. The staff has to decide if he’s a diamond in the rough who’s been under-recruited due to circumstances or not. They liked what they saw enough to send someone out to watch and offer him.
