This is always the case with replay. If you can’t tell in 5 seconds, leave it as it was called on field. The ump called him out. Simple call. And kid is doubled off. Do they feel bad the kid got doubled off? I don’t get it.

It’s the right call imo....but how does that take that long to review. The only thing I can think is what to do with the base runner, but by letter of the law he never tags on caught ball..... but who would’ve reacted differently as a runner if seeing a RFielder boot that.

I think they may have been looking to make sure the ump did rule catch.

I was thinking of another anology that happens — a trap/catch in the outfield. That happens all the time and the runner has to look at the ump for the call.
