Also, I’m sure this was posted elsewhere and I missed it, but why didn’t Achonwa and Nurse participate?

Aaliyah Edwards: 9 points ( 4/6 FG, 1/1 3-PT ), 3 rebounds, 4 steals in 18.5 minutes

She definitely has the physical tools but her offensive numbers are misleading. The 3 pt shot was a bank 3 and the other makes were mainly transition layups.

Anyone care to offer thoughts on the heights of Edwards and Olivia?

I'm thinking 6'1" or so for the Canadian and 6'5" and a fraction for Olivia. She looks taller than Stef and way taller than Lou and EWill.

A few statistical highlights for the Huskies:

Tina (9.0), Stef (8.8), and Lou (8.0) were 4th, 5th, and 6th in scoring. Syl led with 13.7 ppg. Arike and Diamond were next (9.8 each).

Tina (44), Phee (38), Stef (27), and Lou (27) were 2nd, 3rd, and tied for 4th in rebounding. Syl led with 47.

Stef shot an astounding 82%, topping the team. Syl was 2nd at 77%. Liv was 3rd at 57%.

Tina (90%) led in FT shooting.

Lou (10) made the most 3-pointers. Arike and Diamond were 2nd (5 each). Arike shot 5-25.

Tina (18) was 3rd in assists. Jordin (32) and Diamond (20) led. Tina had an A:TO ratio of 18:7.

Stef and Syl tied for 2nd in blocks (4 each). Elizabeth led with 6.

I'll let David present a more complete--and more interesting--picture.

Off to Europe for most of them. I wonder if they get a break to play in the next round in Argentina in November.

In Canada? USAB selected and are paying 8 players that won’t be playing overseas to participate in Team USA events. Any of those who are healthy should make up most of the team.

Syl was the focal point of our offense. That really helped her get the award.

Syl missed the past 2 World Cups in 2014 and 2018. She was a non-factor in London in 2012 but played very well off the bench in Rio in 2016. Thankfully Griner and Tina played really well during those tournaments. Syl is doing what she can to get back in among the top post players under consideration.

Next year a healthy EDD, and Stewie are going to give Liz nightmares when they play Australia. Having those 2 on the wings is going to give all of our post players easy shots.

We've seen Griner as the primary scoring option in some FIBA tourneys. Syl was playing that role last week.

I think Sylvia was playing injured in 2012.
