Any updates on where Casparius or Wurster are playing? Too bad Jimmy Wang isn't anywhere

Caleb Wurster surfaces at Falmouth after pitching a game with Wareham earlier in the week. Just goes to show you how fast the players can move around during summer ball.

So far this summer season Kenny Haus has a 2.46 ERA in 11 innings pitched, with 10 strikeouts, 8 walks, and 7 hits given up.

Randy Polonia (also with Healdsburg this summer) also has a 2.46 ERA in 11 innings pitched, with 21 strikeouts, 5 walks, and 7 hits.

The latest player to transfer to UConn is RHP Justin Willis, who is currently playing for the Keene Swamp Bats of the NECBL. In 4 games, Willis has an ERA of 3.72 in 9.2 innings, with 14 strikeouts, 3 walks, and 9 hits. He has 2 saves and 1 win to his credit.

I'm a little confused. I thought players who had used up their collegiate eligibility could not play in these summer ball leagues. Does anyone know what goes on here with Jeff Kersten?

Encouraging strikeout to walk ratio, even if he has given up a few hits.

After this past UConn season, an encouraging strikeout to walk ratio was not exactly what you would associate with Karl Johnson. However, so far this summer with the Bourne Braves, Johnson has had a big turnaround, albeit in a limited amount of work. In 4 games, Johnson has worked 8 innings, and has a 0.00 ERA, with 7 strikeouts, 1 walk, and 4 hits. Nice summer so far for him.

Christian Fedko's bat is booming on the Cape. He's hitting .351 after tonight's game.

UConn incoming recruits Andrew Marrero and Garrett Coe are now listed on the roster of the Bristol Blues of the Futures League. Incoming freshmen joining a Futures League team in the middle of the summer season is something that seems to happen pretty much every summer.

This twitter feed is slightly off. According to the box score Joe Simeone had 8 strikeouts in his 6 inning start in his third appearance for the Keene, which was by far his best for the Swamp Bats this summer season. Simeone allowed 1 run and 5 hits and gave up no walks.

Randy Polonia having quite a time out west getting a chance to strengthen his arm in the California Collegiate League. Polonia now is at 6 games and 13 innings pitched, with a 2.08 ERA, with 24 strikeouts, 7 walks, and 8 hits. The walk total is a little high, but love the ERA and all those strikeouts. Still, if he keeps this up, Polonia will be a candidate for a lot of work out of the UConn bullpen next season.

He was off for so long he might finally be getting his stamina and arm strength back. Good to see him having some success and getting some good work.

He and Karl Johnson having nice summers hopefully are a springboard for productive seasons.

Kevin Ferrer has had a great start with Adirondack in the Perfect Game League. .398 batting average, .519 on base percentage, .578 slugging percentage. 83 at bats, 12 doubles, 1 homer, 17 walks. He has primarily played LF, but has seen a little time in CF.
