2019/20 UConn Recruiting

Faith Masonius got a positive write-up in Blue Star for her work this weekend, as did Engstler. I think the two have some similarities...although Emily seems to like engaging refs (save it until you're coaching.... ;))

she's going to be a really nice DI front court player for somebody good............very savvy, fundamentally sound...

waiting for a big '21/'22 story to start the new thread, in the meantime just read UConn and Louisville currently watching 2021 NJ Shoreshots today......really talented kids often play 2-3 years up and usually win

A 2021 name to remember: Saylor Poffenbarger, 6-1 W from Maryland. Hard to forget that name.

Well if it makes you feel any better UConn is following her on twitter and she them................

Now if UConn just gets her and fellow '21 top prospect Jersey Wolfenbarger.

Don't know quite where to put this one -- I also dropped it in the Collier thread because that commitment (to Texas) probably had a lot to do with this happening. Shae Routt -- the wing, per Raoul, just de-committed from Texas. If you follow the trail on the attached Raoul link, that seems to open up a slot for one more at Texas. Looks like Coach Alstott is doubling down....

WBB: Shae Routt, 6-0 W, Kempner HS (TX-2018), has decommitted from Texas (per @_Icebasketball); Longhorns back to four 2018 commits.

Poffenbarger's mother (now her HS coach) played college ball at Missouri and then, briefly, professionally I believe. I'm sure Mizzou is recruiting Saylor.

She goes to Middletown High School in central Maryland. Not exactly a hot bed of basketball so I'm not sure those videos will tell you much. If they make the state tournament and play some schools from the Baltimore and Washington Metro areas, then I will have a better feel for her abilities.

Maddie Burke 7th

Hailey Van Lith goes from #49 to #13
