Frosh Jake Sanderson in to pitch the second inning for UConn. Sanderson faces the minimum in the second with a pick off to end the frame.

It's hard to follow a game just through twitter (too bad there doesn't seem to be a stats feed), but the pitching seems to be having a nice day.

Same reaction. Just seem to be getting in as much baseball as possible before nightfall.

With an 11am start on a Saturday, you have to wonder how many innings they might play against Avery Point.

As you would expect in the fall ball season, the coaching staff is looking at who can do what. For instance, Thad Phillips got the start at 3B in today's game. He also got some time at 3B in the Alumni Game last weekend. By the same notion, Christian Fedko got a start at 3B for the Alumni Game and a start at 2B today.

The versatility of some of these guys could be a tremendous asset for the coaching staff come spring.

Minor gripe but would love for the program to post some clips rather than BIG FONT FLASHING GIFS every time something good happens.

Can't they give some bored undergrad an HD video camera and $10/hr to film this stuff? Would have loved that job when I was a student.

Some things are bigger then baseball....

Kudos to the UConn Baseball team for stopping by to visit Cole. Cole’s family has been a part of our Core Training Academy family for many years. Andy Hague (and his twin brother Teddy, OF/Yale) are Core Training Academy alums. The support from the Hagues and the UConn Baseball team means a lot to Cole and his family. This is exactly why we do what we do. It’s always bigger then baseball!!!
