Our team shoots 30% from 3 right now.
Yeah, and they were a bunch of elite shooters in high school. Take a guy who shoots 28% in the NVL and put him in D1 hoops and what'll he hit?

Hopefully he goes to play for Donyell at CCSU and tears it up for two years, proving me wrong in the process. Then he transfers here and leads us to back-to-back titles in 2022 & 23, and you can all throw this thread in my face. ;)

Give them extra consideration for legacy. Use the 13th scholarship
If we were coming off of 3 straight very good-to-excellent years, and had our whole roster sorted out, I'd agree with you. But since we're mostly only able to land "project" bigs at this point, I think we need to use our full battery of scholarships on guys who we know can play (postgrads & transfers) or guys who we hope can play.

If Carleton & Polley come into the team next year and light the world on fire, I'll change my tune.

Yeah, but if there's ever a Johnnie Selvie Jr. he better be playing at Uconn Dam'it . I don't care what "star" he is. The name alone is worth 7 and 10 Per game.

What if there's a Jonathan Mandeldove Jr some day?
