Could be a stretch, but Marvin Washington (I mistakenly said Williams) retweeted about two of his teammates going to UCONN, the same school that he is following on Twitter (Rhett Lashlee) after he decommitted from UCF.

Interesting find (and thats an understatement). I just shared this story on the main board.

I hope he visits this weekend, but it probably comes down to what Arizona has to say. I dont know the QB situation at AZ or FAU, but our situation is rather ideal for Washington. If we land a JUCO QB, he can redshirt this year and then its between him and McAfee thereafter. I don't know any properly run P5 or G5 program that doesn't try to have two stud QBs on hand, so there is always going to be in house competition. The question is, what is the depth of that competition. You have to figure at UConn it will be less than Arizona and that means more playing time. Playing time is what is should be about + system fit + school atmosphere.

My guess is that they already talked about Marvin Washington (hence why he is omitted) and so this is a pitch for two more prospects.

Aman apparently has the scoop on who is visiting this weekend. I think he is suggesting Gardner-Russaw is one those coming in.

Hope he decides to stay home in CT when it's all said and done.. plenty of talent in Windsor, as well as Bloomfield, that seems to pass us by and head north a lot ( BC and Cuse ). Let's keep our top talent home for a change...

Just under one week 'til the signing period begins. UConn needs between four and seven more newcomers, IME. Do they get there? I Would love at least one of the two yet-to-commit OLs to come aboard. Looks like DT is under recruited as well.

Posted this somewhere else but here are the 4 I'm hoping for. 1. Deonte Sheffield-RB-looks vastly underrated and under recruited. He and Brayden Brown could 1 day rival Donald Brown and Andre Dixon for RB studs in the same class.

2.Marvin Washington/David Pindell we need bodies at QB, the position. I think Pindell could start next year.

3. Garrick Vollmer OL-1st highlight shows him catching a screen pass. Big body that moves well.

4. Elliot Brown listed as a wr I could see him being a freakish pass rushing DE, if he is open to such a move or possibly a TE in the Ryan Griffin mode.

I haven't been excited about recruiting in years.

I would imagine it would depend on whether he is enrolled, taking classes, and working w/ team.
 
Staff is closing strong. To paraphrase from the Godfather recruiting is a dirty business. Difference it seems so far it seems between Diaco and Edsall staff is Diaco recruited kids until they commit somewhere else, Edsall recruits kids until signing day regardless of commitment status.

Yes, the situation will get worse before it gets better. However, 10 years from now kids will still be drafted - rather frequently from AAC, MAC, MTW, etc because football, as much as any other sport, is about playing time and all that talent packing in at the P5 schools benches won't get on the field to hone their craft and display their ability.

Maybe the kids will never learn, but it won't change, your best bet for playing at the next level for many kids is playing G5 so they rack up the playing time.
