I have no issue if the staff hands out an offer to one of these 4 and 5 stars being recruited by all the top schools. I have a problem if the allot a significant amount of time recruiting them.

The staff needs to be focusing on evaluating players that are within the teams reach. And being able to secure a commitment from under recruited players who can develop into 4 and 5 stars before they leave Storrs. Randy Edsall and staff did a very good job at this. Jury is still out on Coach P.

I always say it's not how you start, but how strong you finish and these UCONN coaches will finish strong. The good news is Diaco and company are offering really good players and we're destined to get commits from a few of them soon.

I know that is the desire, but what evidence do you have a strong finish? The late signees last year? Looking at the offer list of a lot of the kids have conference advantage (your phrase) offers. What will make them choose Uconn? You can offer every great player in the country but are you offering and closing kids that will commit? How are the results versus peer groups? What is Diaco's/staff's closing pitch? 91 offers shown above with 16% choosing elsewhere. Are TX kids really coming to Uconn? You should not exclude that state, but is it really a likely positive reward for the effort?

Uconn needs an in state kid to commit. Soon. Every kid from CT has committed out of state or is a strong lean out of state. I think it is unusual (best word I can come up with) that the JR day did not yield a commit. This is a huge recruiting class for Uconn in so many ways and May is almost gone with a goose egg on the board. If the summer camp sessions do not yield a recruit, I think concern will be a very reasonable position.
