A lot of arm tackles but has very good closing speed. I think he will be very good.

...and another "B1G" kid. Tall, quick and great frame to build on. LOVIN IT.

Welcome Marshe. At that size playing db, maybe another Obi.

Welcome Marshe! I tried to watch his hudl video but for some reason, it won't play. I'll try later. But man, that is some good size. 6'4" will fill out nicely at Safety. LOVE THIS CLASS!!!!

Welcome to the Dog Pound, Marshe!!!

Sweet - welcome aboard Marshe!

I'm sensing a theme with Diaco. He seems to be going after tall guys that run well.

247 sports had a piece about commits on Tuesday. Here's what they had to say about Marshe Terry.

Diaco’s sleeper

We like the pickup by UConn in Marshe Terry out of New Jersey. He’s a safety that is only rated as a low three-star on 247Sports so we’re acknowledging that the pickup is a projection by the UConn staff but we don’t think it’s a reach.

Terry has outstanding size at around 6-foot-4, you can see on film that his body has already begun to transform from his sophomore to junior seasons and he has great ball skills, doubling as a wide receiver. New UConn head coach and former Notre Dame defensive coordinator Bob Diaco has a chance to really mold Terry into a unique player at safety or potentially even outside linebacker. Terry will be worth checking back in on once his senior film is out.

@NBC_Athletics: Marshe Terry scored a game-high 24 points as Northern Burlington defeated Delran, 70-56

Can he shoot it? Take the pads off and get to Gampel young man!

Pair of UConn commits lighting it up on basketball court

>>Marshe Terry and Nazir Williams are among the headliners of the defensive prospects signed by UConn. However, before they step onto a football field as UConn teammates they are in the process of dominating for their high school basketball teams.

Terry had 23 points to lead 12th-seeded Northern Burlington to a 73-60 win over No. 5 seed Neptune in the first round of the Central Jersey, Group 3 tournament, Northern Burlington will play No. 4 Somerville in the quarterfinals on Friday.

Williams had 16 points, 21 rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots as No. 4 Bridgeton defeated No. 5 Sterling 80-68 in the South Jersey Group 2 semifinals. The win sets up a showdown with top-seeded Haddonfield in Friday's semifinals.<<

>>In his football career, Terry amassed 49 receptions for 698 yards and seven touchdowns, adding 139 tackles and seven interceptions on defense. He was a first-team all-conference pick on defense his junior and senior seasons and was named NBC’s Defensive Player of the Year as a junior. “Marshe’ is the type of football player every coach wants on their team,” Greyhounds coach Jon Reising said. “He was the first one on the field and last one off every day. Marshe’ has excelled on the football field, whether it was a crucial block, an amazing catch or making a big play defensively. His unselfish play coincides with his demeanor off the field.

“Marshe’ is always willing to help the younger players with nuances of the game of football and help improve their abilities as athletes. I have had the unique privilege of knowing Marshe’ for the past five years, and during this time he has matured as a person and as a student. I was able to see Marshe’ become an intelligent young man who strives in every endeavor that he is a part of.”

Part of those endeavors are in the classroom, where Terry has compiled a 3.55 grade point average to go along with SAT scores of 1470. He is also a volunteer for Children’s Special Olympics and serves as a Student LIFE member in the Teen Peer Educator Program. Terry volunteered to feed the homeless and took part in Multicultural Day.

“Not only did he exhibit responsibility and a high level of respect in the classroom, but he demonstrated above average academic ability,” said Jillian Sciurca, Terry’s personal economics teacher. “Marshé is a student of great promise and has an excellent rapport with his peers, coaches and the faculty at Northern. There is not a time when Marshé is not seen in the hallway or on the field with his positive attitude and upbeat personality.”<<

He sounds like a phenomenal athlete and really great young man. Glad to have him in the program.
