We are making excellent progress so far with JA and SE and was just wondering where we stand so far and depending on who else we get, where we are likely to end up?

It's very early but I think most have UConn 15-20 right now. Only 2 of the top 10 are committed.

All the below have three top 100 commits, or a top ten player.

Arizona has an outstanding class (Simon, Smith, Comanche, Trier)
UL also is solid (Mitchell, Adel, Blakney, Spalding)
Cuse has a good group (Richardson, Diagne, Lydon, Howard)
Duke is off to a good start (Kennard, Jeter)
FSU (Mann, Bacon, Beasley)
UF (Allen, Divkerson, Hayes)
OSU (Grandstaff, Giddens, Harris and not top 100 Mitchell)
LSU (Simmons, maybe #1 in class)

Not sure if any others with more than 2 top 100 players.

Yeah, this is about right. It's worth noting that heavy-hitters like UK, KU and UNC don't have anyone signed yet, and Michigan St. only has one top-100 kid so far (I think).

It's not really worth worrying about rankings, anyway. As long as we get the pieces that KO feels he needs - and it definitely seems like we're 2-for-2 so far - then I don't care what the recruiting websites say.

Washington has 3 top 100 guys coming in. Dejounte Murray, Marquesse Chriss, and David Crisp. And are on the verge of a 4th in Matisse Thybulie. According to Scout rankings anyways.

You forgot Auburn, Penn State, Memphis, Texas A&M, UCLA, and Washington. Quite a few teams have 2 or more top 100 players. Ours does not stick out yet. Give us Clarke and Stone and we will have a top 10 maybe 5 class.

247 has us at 15 right now, and they have a class ranking calculator, so you can see where we'd end up if we landed certain players.

Jalen Adams & Steven Enoch: 15th
+ Derrick Jones: 4th
+ Chris Clarke: 5th
+ Diamond Stone: 3rd
+ Tevin Mack: 6th
+ Isaiah Briscoe: 3rd

Landing any two of those players would likely put us in the top 5 of 247 team rankings.

Most thought the class with Lamb, Shabazz, Roscoe, Olander and Giffey was a dud. 2 Championships prove otherwise.
Yup. And most thought last year's class was crap as well - ESPN didn't even have us in the top 40. Yet 2 of the 3 guys were bigtime contributors to a title, and the third is likely to be a starter this year.

Fact is this: Other than the super-special talents (Parker, Randle, Gordon), most of the top 150 are all just about the same level. The ones who advance will do so in large part because they choose an environment and a mentor/mentors who can give them a structure for success and an understanding of how to be improve.

I work in pro sports and see this all the time - a 2% differential in native talent is more than compensated for by a 20% improvement in environment.

By those metrics, I mean... who's really gonna bet against UConn? Who's gonna bet against KO?

I'm a little greedy - I want Jones, Stone and Briscoe.

OK, then can I make the case that if we don't get any of the other recruits and Hamilton and Purvis stay 1 more year, we still have enough talent for another title?
