2015 & 2016 teams to be honored

UConn+ didn't work, unfortunately. YouTube did work.

Unfortunately Kia Nurse got caught in the snowstorm that causes havoc in Toronto and the suburbs near by. Caused some main highways to be shut down due to the snow and black ice. 😢

Thank you all, I am not allowed to like posts the way you are. the process has been deleted from me. I guess I was bad a couple years ago and have been punished.

Kerry Bascomb, a unanimous first team WBCA (Kodak) All-American in 1991, was the first women's basketball player to be inducted into the Huskies of Honor.

Watching her play against Virginia in the FF is a big part of why I’ve watched them since then. She was really good. I had been reading the sports pages about the program since Geno was hired, and checked boxscores regularly, but that first tv game really sold me. The team was undersized, but played tough and smart.

Last night something bothered me about the ceremony and I woke up still bothered, so I am going to leave it here. The honorees all dressed like they were going to a community trash pickup. They would not dress that way to do a TikTok or to do a tunnel walk before a WNBA game. It was disappointing.

I'm a teacher- how about dress/casual? For me, button down shirt tucked in, khakis, comfortable shoes, a belt. Usually have dress-down Fridays. KML looked nice, Moriah same. KLS- come-on girlfriend! Thumbs down Centerstream!

“Community trash pickup”, really? They’re at a basketball game not a dance. They were dressed like 95% of the people at the game.

Key word here is "ceremony". Sue Bird, at her # retirement ceremony- classy, dress/casual.
Like the classic sitcom scene, child getting ready to leave the house, and the parent says, "you're leaving dressed like that, now go back upstairs and change."

They are being honored in a televised ceremony before thousands of fans. Their dress is disrespectful. If people don't see it I am sorry for that. To equate them to the people in the stands is illogical. I like them all, buty I feel like a disappointed parent.

Have you seen the video series a few years ago with Geno as the moderator with a couple of players. There was one with Kerry and Nykesha. He told Kerry that if he had one of his players to shoot for his life, I think it was, it would be her. In her stoic, straight-faced way, you could tell that the comment touched her. He had a different compliment for Nykesha.

They aren’t children, they’re grown women that can dress themselves as they please.

I didn't have any objections to their attire. In fact, I loved the custom "C" jackets that 4 of them were wearing.

I can't believe that we are posting about the attire grown women wore last night. These women are in their late 20s, early 30s.
Sometimes somethings are just better by not being typed. For example, this post. But...

Actually, I was going to bring them up because I liked the design of them. It had a nice retro feel to it, which I thought was pretty cool.

Hmm. I watched it on the UConn+ app on my Roku. It started about 10 seconds after it started on the UConn Huskies YouTube channel on my phone.
For whatever reason, my UConn+ connection just never clicked in.

Glad yours worked, and that we both found a way to watch Husky history being made!

Why wasn't Gabby Williams name not even mentioned?
Yes, Gabby Williams AND Saniya Chong AND Kia Nurse, all 3 individuals who were very important parts of that team, and you also have to add 2 key bench players in Courtney Ekmark and Natalie Butler. Although both Gabby and Saniya are presently playing Basketball overseas and were unable to attend the ceremonies, and Kia was unable to get to Connecticut due to Weather Issues, and Courtney and Natalie had previous commitments and were unable to attend, these 5 former UCONN WBB Greats should be mentioned along with the others.
