I had no idea that Kentucky lost to Tennessee. I turned it off bc they were up by a decent amount
 
Michigan getting annihilated by Michigan State, down by 28 with 5 minutes left. In their own building. Ouch.

Providence down by 14 with 14 minutes left at the Dunk.
 
NC State down by 5 at Duke with 4:29 to go. The stripes already trying to give the game to Duke. Just fouled out an NC State player after Duke player slipped on the floor and fell down.
 
Hope the Mich win is still worth something a month from now, IU and Mich St are better teams but they got destroyed in both games on their own floor, they need Levert back asap.
 
Wonder if Ben Bentil will get any looks for the All-American teams. Wouldn't be surprised to see him end up on 3rd team or something.
 
Dunn comes up really small again in a big game (4-15, 6 turnovers). I'd be concerned about that as a PC fan going into the tourney. You wonder if his Kentucky debacle two years ago still lingers between his ears.

PC is now 1-4 in conference home games.

was terrible in the Dayton game last year in the first round too, I've seen natl media peg him as having the potential to pull a Kemba/Bazz in the tourney this year, I'd bet more money on Bentil showing out than him.

He'll most likely get zero consideration being on a middle of the pack NBE team and being the 2nd best player on that team.
 
wonder if PC is still ranked next week, they should not be, but 11th to out is a big drop.

Yeah, agree with you on the fact about PC's record, but you see Dunn's name being thrown around for 1st team AA, and and it's not like Dunn has been playing that much better than Bentil this season.

These things should never be simultaneously true: (1) you lost twice in one week, once to an 8-14 team, (2) you are 6-5 in conference, (3) you are ranked the following Monday.

Not having Bentil for the DePaul game does matter, but their resume is pretty unimpressive save a Villanova win.

Two sub-100 losses is not pretty.

The consensus on the PC board is that we will be forced to play a home and home with them because of our declining program. Ignoring the fact that we have 5 (Larrier counts) top 100 players coming in next year and they are a disaster without Dunn with awful recruiting...

Bentil is an animal. Dunn played very poorly. However, I'm not sure if Nova's defense was stout because Providence had nothing going or are they that good?

Xavier looked good today I will say. I think this is the year Nova gets out of the 1st weekend though...
 
So just bc I'm a tad bored:

According to ESPN UConn is currently in line for a 9 seed. Other 9 seeds VCU lost to GW and South Carolina beat Texas AM.

The 8 seeds are ND, Florida, Colorado and Pitt. Pitt lost to UVA today, ND is playing UNC, Florida lost to UK. Colorado plays later.

7 seed Michigan lost to MSU.

The 10 seeds are LSU, Washington, Cincy and Gonzaga. Cincy lost to Memphis, Washington lost to Zona, LSU won against Mississippi State. Gonzaga plays tomorrow.

11 seed Clemson lost to VTech.

So of the 20 teams seeded 7-11, seven lost today with some games left.

After beng able to watch Xavier a few times since they lost to Nova (with their injury that game) they look really good. Nova has a higher game to game potential because of their three point potential but Xavier is a team that looks like it always plays at a high level. I may get burnt by this, but I think they have the best shot of going far in the NCAAT of teams in the NBE.
 
Oklahoma goes down by double digits to a poor Kansas St team. Yikes.

Looks like Villanova will be the new #1. Lulz.

Yeah they really impressed me. This tournament will be all about matchups. I can see a lot of 8-12 seeds advancing...

Hey, that would mean that if the season ended with them as #1, they will definitely have the 1 seed in the East. Would love nothing more than us having an 8/9 seed and embarrassing them and another overall #1 seed again, this time in Providence.

I would not be worried if oklahoma or Nova were the one seeds in our bracket

The East regionals this year are at Wells Fargo where the Sixers play, basically 'Nova's alternate home court. Dream scenario for them if they get the #1 in the east.

Hey, if our guy embarrass them at home, all the better.

But if we face them in a 1 vs 8/9 seed, in the round of 32, that isn't part the regional rounds, is it? Still part of the first weekend, which Providence is hosting? I think you're talking about the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight games. I think they'd have to beat us to get home.

Yes, they would, so I guess my point is kind of unrelated.

If it comes to us playing 'Nova, so be it. I'd prefer to work our way up to the six line or so if possible.
 
The UConn women's game thread on reddit's r/collegebasketball has twice as much activity as our conference games...
