SMU just got shafted on the last 2 "foul" calls. What a joke

Make that the last 3 calls

Liked the charge call on Kennedy there. Hilarious. Regardless this cannot hurt out rpi in the short term. I wonder with 2 of the last 3 lost how Larry will keep them motivated long enough for us to beat them and get a decent rpi scalp

Houston could be a tournament team if they didn't have those terrible losses to Grand Canyon and South Florida.

Grand Canyon is not a bad team, they aren't great but they aren't bad (105 kenpom.com). They have a win over san Diego at along with houston and only had 2 losses (louisville and omaha) until their last game

They're not Rutgers or BC bad, but IMO, if you're grading tournament resumes, anything below 100 is a bad loss, especially at home.

I'll take this argument about Houston as a positive for the conference's long term health. This conversation would have been inconceivable last year. That's a good win for that program. Looked pretty packed on tv. Time for us to survive and advance until the dance. Then survive and advance another 6

Baylor vs Texas a real battle. Very physical. Baylor is scary strong. Texas by 1 with 11:45 left and Baylor shooting a free throw on an and 1. Refs are really letting these guys bash each other. Gathers on Baylor blatantly smashed a Texas player in the back in the paint with his arm and shoulder and got called for a foul but it sure looked like it should have been a technical to me.

Baylor also plays a very interesting zone defense. I guess it is a 1-3-1 but guys seem to pull out of it into man once in a while. It is very aggressive. Texas has been beating it occasionally by sneaking the ball down into the baseline.

Didn't realize that. In that case, the South Florida loss really stings.

It really hurts them. We're probably a 3-bid league at this point if they don't drop that game. We can only hope Houston ends up in the RPI 100. It wouldn't be crazy if they went 6-2 or 5-3 through their final 8 games and depending on where the W/Ls fall they should be RPI top 150 and could end up in the RPI top 100. Kenpom currently has them at 79

I agree...thuggish play!

Houston got a big boost from this, and are now at 103. Their schedule strength will improve as league games vs decent opponents offset their weak ooc schedule. They need to win at home, and win the two games vs scrubs on the road. If they do that, they will be top 100, and they may go into their final game (Cincy at home), with a chance to lock up an NIT bid. This would be a nice step forward for a team the league badly needs to become one of it's pillars. Sampson would then be able to sell a "team on the rise" scenario to recruits. Sampson has a bad rep, but his sin was more thumbing his nose at the NCAA, than any awful cheating he did. Houston hiring him was a major plus for the AAC. Keep in mind, that if the BE can look at St. John's as a sleeping giant because they went to the Final Four 30 years ago, the AAC can look at Houston the same way. Houston was better than St. John's during that era, going not to one Final Four, but three, including two Championship Games. If Memphis can get rid of Pastner, and get the right coach in there, the AAC should go from a disaster for UConn, to a solid P5 level league that you can be comfortable being in, while you wait for the next round of expansion.

You know, Texas produces a lot of talent. KO ought to take advantage of UConn's higher visibility there, and try to establish a pipeline to some of that talent. UConn is a known brand, and the South produces players at a much higher level than it used to. UConn needs to tap into that, now that they have a presence in that region.

Kentucky is starting to look more and more like a bubble team. Losing to TN even though it was on the road just shows this team isn't much this year.

UK just blew a 21pt lead to a 10-11 Tenn team on the road
Too bad after beating GTech and NCState Puke will be back in the top 15, but a week of both UK and Dook out of the rankings would be beautiful.

Georgetown lost but if Michigan can pick up W tonight it'll further help our resume. It's early but they're playing well

The Squid goes down again to Tennessee
Wow
Both Kensucky and Puke may be 0ut of top 25
When was the last time that happened?

If Michigan beats Indiana, UConn will be in the top 25 on KenPom.

Kentucky upset by Tennessee on the road. They had a double digit lead in the first half and by halftime Tennessee had closed in on them. Close game the rest of the way. Skal looks kind of lost from what I saw. I'm not sure he's a lottery pick. Lee might be though. And Ulis certainly is.

Kentucky has the win against Louisville, and a lesser extent against Duke, helping keep them afloat. Their resume is thin, and Tennessee is a bad loss.

Why aren't you saying when's the last time UConn Duke and KY were not in the top 25?

This guy on Providence Quadree Smth is like Justin McBride only 4-5 inches shorter.
